Genshin Impact features a diverse array of enemies, including the newly introduced mini-boss challenges in the Fontaine region. These challenges, known as Local Legends, serve as a way for players to put their character builds and abilities to the test. Falling under the mob category, these enemies are vulnerable to Overworld weaknesses but possess a higher level of durability compared to regular foes.
Among the Underwater Local Legends encountered in Fontaine, Luachra the Brilliant stands out. This enemy can only be found underwater and is a more formidable version of the Cherubic Sea Hare introduced in Version 4.1. Luachra employs a combination of Cryo and Hydro attacks to overpower its opponents.
Where to Find Luachra, the Brilliant
How to Defeat Luachra the Brilliant
Upon unlocking the Liffey Region, players can find Luachra situated near the outermost portion of the map within the submerged region. To easily locate this character, players can teleport to the waypoint just south of the Millennial Pearl Seahorse Boss. From there, they should swim northwest towards the map's edge, where they will come across Luachra near a cluster of seagrass.
Players must be aware that defeating Luachra requires them to utilize the abilities of a nearby Xenochromatic Jellyfish. Like all underwater foes, damage can only be inflicted with the assistance of Xenochromatic creatures. Utilizing the Jellyfish in close proximity proves to be more efficient in the confrontation, as it empowers Travelers to deploy explosive bombs that cause significant harm when detonated.
While the battle may potentially endure for a lengthy duration, players can swiftly conclude it if they devise a strategic approach.
Tips & Tricks
To ease the challenges posed by the opposing forces during underwater navigation, it is beneficial for players to adhere to the following tips throughout the entire duration of the battle.
Make Use of the Recovery Orbs

In Genshin Impact, underwater battles present a unique challenge as the typical method of consuming food to restore health is not as effective. Normally, when characters eat, they expend energy during combat, which means the amount of food needed to replenish health increases in order to prevent them from becoming completely full.
However, underwater combat operates differently. Character skills and attack movements are replaced by the abilities of the Fontemer Aberrant, resulting in no expenditure of energy or loss thereof. As a result, characters are more likely to become completely full faster, posing a challenge in navigating through underwater battles. Additionally, shields cannot be used underwater, further adding to the complexity of underwater combat.
Players can navigate through this area by using the Recovery Orbs located near Luachra whenever their health is low. It is important to note that these orbs restore the HP of all party members, either up to 80% or 100%, depending on their current health. Since there are only a limited number of orbs in the area, players should use them carefully, rather than rushing towards them when only one character in the party is in need of healing.
Time Attacks

During Luachra's attack sequences, there will be a specific moment when he prepares for a powerful charged attack directed at the player. Luachra's appearance will be enhanced with a vibrant purple glow as he swiftly approaches the players. This is the perfect opportunity for Travelers to strategically launch the Xenochromatic Jellyfish's bombs. By deploying these bombs precisely during Luachra's attack, not only will it cause additional damage to him, but also stun him, enabling players to unleash a barrage of bombs.
Your browser lacks support for the video tag. Furthermore, given that players lack shields to defend against brutal attacks, it is advisable to maintain a safe distance from Luachra in order for Travelers to anticipate his movements. When players are at an appropriate distance from Luachra, the Hydro bubbles he releases move at a slower speed, facilitating Travelers' ability to evade them.
Furthermore, characters in Genshin Impact do not possess any specific abilities that are effective underwater. As a result, players are free to choose any team composition that suits their preference for underwater battles. However, it is worth noting that characters with larger stamina bars (such as tall male and female characters) and those with the swimming stamina reduction ability (like Beidou and Sangonomiya Kokomi) may provide some advantages during the fight.
Upon successfully completing the challenge, players will be rewarded with a Hidden Achievement that is valued at 5 Primogems, as well as a Precious Chest. It is important to mention that Luachra, being an Overworld enemy, does not respawn within a few minutes like World Bosses. Instead, players will need to wait until the Server Reset to face it again and obtain any additional desired rewards, such as Adventure EXP.

The underwater combat mechanics in Genshin Impact present a unique set of challenges, and I appreciate the way they force players to adapt their strategies. The limited use of Recovery Orbs and the inability to use shields add an extra layer of complexity to the battle, making it all the more rewarding when you finally emerge victorious. Overall, I am very excited about the addition of Luachra the Brilliant to Genshin Impact and can't wait to dive into the battle and uncover all of his secrets!
