New System Optimization Updates
The Hydro Region in Genshin Impact is highly anticipated, especially after the exciting Livestream which hinted at the ability to explore underwater and interact with marine creatures. This has sparked even more desire for Fontaine among Genshin Impact players.
In addition to underwater exploration, Fontaine offers a multitude of thrilling features such as new enemies, bosses, weapons, characters, and more. However, before venturing to the Court of Fontaine, travelers must first unlock the Land of Justice in Sumeru, making it crucial to explore the Land of Wisdom.
New Characters
Three additional characters have been officially announced for the highly anticipated Genshin Impact 4.0. Lyney, an exceptional 5-Star Pyro character, adeptly wields the Bow with unparalleled precision. Joining her sibling in the lineup, Lynette is a formidable 4-Star Anemo character who masterfully harnesses the power of the Sword. Notably, the roster is further enriched by the presence of Freminet, a remarkable 4-Star Claymore character, whose affinity lies within the Cryo element.
There are other characters involved in the upcoming Archon Quests:
Furina, the Hydro Archon’s Vessel
Navia, the President of the Spina di Rousla
Clorinde, the Champion Duelist
Neuvillette, the Just Iudex
Charlotte, the Journalist from The Steambird
Wish Banner: Lyney + Yelan, And Childe + Zhongli
For the first phase of the Wish Event, players will have another chance to pull Yelan along with the new 5-Star character Lyney.
As for the second phase of the Wish Event, both Childe and Zhongli will have a re-run banner, and their half will feature Freminet.
New Weapons
There are a bunch of new weapons introduced in version 4.0:
Lyney’s Bow, The First Great Magic will be available during the first phase of the Wishing Event.
New Forgeable Weapons obtained from the smithy by speaking with Estelle.
New Battle Pass Weapons.
A free Sword obtained from fishing called Fleuve Cendre Ferryman.
Underwater Exploration
The highly anticipated feature in Genshin Impact 4.0 is undoubtedly the underwater exploration. In this exciting update, players can dive into the depths without worrying about Oxygen or Stamina limits, allowing for unrestricted exploration. Instead, a new Aquatic Stamina bar is introduced for sprinting underwater. To replenish this stamina, players can swiftly regain it by collecting Recovery Orbs.
Other than the large ocean, there are also floating bodies of water in the air that can be explored and used as a shortcut in Genshin Impact.
New Exploration Mechanics
While exploring the underwater area in Fontaine, Travelers can absorb abilities from certain Fontemer Aberrants such as the Armored Crab.
In Genshin Impact, travelers may come across the two significant sources of energy known as Ousia and Pneuma. These energies are fundamentally opposite to each other, yet when combined, they trigger a destructive reaction that produces valuable energy for solving puzzles.
New Map
In addition to the underwater area to explore, Fontaine offers Travelers the opportunity to roam around the Court of Fontaine. This court consists of two distinct districts: the Residential District, where the locals reside, and the Lower District, known for its poverty and disorder.
Some other notable areas include:
Poisson, a forgotten place built from a giant ship.
Merusea Village, a mysterious village.
The Underwater City, a sunken city that exudes elegance and melancholy.
Exquisite Courtyard filled with beautiful sunflowers.
New Quests
There’s the obvious Archon Quest Chapter IV as well as Lyney’s Story Quest “The Forgotten Thief” which will be released in version 4.0.
New Enemies
Fontaine, a technologically advanced region, teems with Clockwork Meka: smart machines designed and created by the skilled Fontainians. These mechanical marvels serve various functions, ranging from production to defense. Throughout the game, players can expect to come across them patrolling the bustling city, safeguarding hidden underwater treasures, and much more.
Travelers may also stumble upon a stronger version of the Fontemer Aberrants that have developed body parts rich in Elemental Energy.
New Bosses
The new Fontaine boss, Icewind Suite, is composed of two upgraded versions of the Clockwork Meka; Dirge of Coppelia and Nemesis of Coppelius.
Another boss is the Emperor of Fire and Iron which is usually found in a cavern.
New Event
Don't miss out on the exciting Mega Meka Melee event where you can lend a hand to Leschots Clockwork Workshop by taking on a challenging Commission. In return, you'll be generously rewarded with Primogems, valuable level-up materials, Mora, and most importantly, an incredible opportunity to obtain Bennett for free in Genshin Impact.
Travelers are tasked to complete three experiments to help in the creation of new toys:
Torrential Turbulent Charge - Underwater Parkour Challenge.
Efficacy Testing Simulation Arena - Combat Challenge.
Dance Dance Resolution - Music Challenge.

Qiqi, Albedo, and Lisa Cards are added to the TCG in Genshin Impact 4.0.
New System Optimization Updates
The new adjustments for Genshin Impact 4.0 include:
Multi-Layered Map: Each multi-layered area will have its own map and players can switch between layers.
Party Setup Screen Updates: Each character in Genshin Impact now has a special animation upon joining the party.
TCG Spectating System: Players can now enter other duels and observe the match from both sides' POV.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
