Miami-based investment firm 777 Partners is on the verge of finalizing a deal to acquire Everton football club. Talks between the multi-club investors and Farhad Moshiri, the majority shareholder of Everton, have progressed following the termination of the exclusivity agreement between Moshiri and New York group MSP Sports Capital.
The 777 group currently has several football clubs in their portfolio, such as Sevilla, Hertha Berlin, and Standard Liege. Demonstrators at the last game of the Belgian side expressed their criticism toward the group's engagement.

Once all the Premier League requirements are fulfilled, 777's action would result in a complete acquisition, which may potentially take several months to finalize. Despite stating in February to Everton's fans' advisory board that the club was "not for sale," Moshiri, the British-Iranian businessman, seems to have had a change of heart and is now open to selling the club.
Despite an investment of over £750m since 2016, there has been discontent among certain Everton supporters regarding his ownership. Demonstrations were organized prior to several matches at Goodison Park last season, with calls for Moshiri and the board to step down.
