Joining City is an incredibly significant moment for my family and me. The opportunity to collaborate with none other than Pep Guardiola is truly exciting. I am fully aware that I still have room for growth, and I am confident that working with the greatest coach in football will undoubtedly elevate my game.
Teaming up with Mateo Kovacic is equally thrilling. His exceptional skills as a footballer make me hopeful that together, we can contribute to City's continued success in the upcoming 2023/24 season and beyond.
We are delighted to welcome Josko to Manchester City. As a player we have closely observed, we believe he possesses exceptional qualities. It's fantastic news for us considering the attention top clubs across Europe have been giving him.
Josko possesses a multitude of qualities that make him an excellent centre-half. Gvardiol transferred to Leipzig from Dinamo two years ago, where he made 87 appearances for the Bundesliga team and achieved victory in the German Cup in both seasons. Additionally, he has represented Croatia in 21 matches and was a key contributor to the team's advancement to the semi-finals of the World Cup last year.

Gvardiol's encounters with City in the Champions League last season were a stark contrast. In the initial match of their last-16 clash, the young Croatian defender exhibited his skills and maturity, proving why he is highly regarded in world football. Not only did he deliver a solid defensive performance, but he also secured a vital goal for his team with a commanding header, drawing the match level.
RB Leipzig suffered a humiliating 7-0 defeat in Manchester three weeks later, as Erling Haaland's remarkable five-goal performance left them powerless. This defeat proved to be a humbling experience for Gvardiol, yet it may serve as further motivation for him to achieve greatness in his career. However, it is evident that this setback has not reduced the interest and admiration of potential suitors.
