James Lafferty and Alexandra Park's love story had a unique start on a TV set. They had the opportunity to work together as a small screen couple in the 2021 show Everyone Is Doing Great. Their paths initially crossed when Lafferty directed an episode of The Royals in 2015, a show that had the same team behind it as the popular CW drama, One Tree Hill. Lafferty's involvement with The Royals continued as he directed four more episodes, while Park portrayed the character of Princess Eleanor throughout all four seasons.
The couple has chosen to keep their romance private for the most part. However, in the fall of 2020, Lafferty couldn't contain his excitement and shared the news of their engagement with his social media followers. Alongside a photo of the couple cuddling in the kitchen, the Right Stuff alum captioned it with "She said yes ️."
"We prefer to maintain our privacy, but we also want to express our love for the show and connect with our devoted supporters and fans," revealed Park in January 2021. "There are moments when we decide to share glimpses of our lives."
Park revealed in January 2021 that he and his partner came up with the concept for the show Everyone Is Doing Great together, highlighting their desire to portray a married couple on screen. The couple, who have previously worked together, found joy in collaborating professionally and wanted to explore the dynamics of Jeremy and Andrea, characters that differ greatly from their real-life relationship. This led to the premiere of the show on Hulu in the same month.
In May 2021, Lafferty once again shared a glimpse into his world with Park, expressing his admiration for his then-fiancée's book, Sugar High. He expressed his immense pride and awe for her, as he had witnessed her dedicated efforts over the years to bring the memoir to fruition. Lafferty described the book as a candid, humorous, and inspiring journey that delves into Park's experience with type 1 diabetes and her professional growth. Above all, he emphasized that reading the memoir would instill a belief that no matter the obstacles faced, one can accomplish their goals in life.

Talk about a serendipitous encounter! James Lafferty and Alexandra Park's romantic journey commenced on the set of a television series, where they portrayed an on-screen couple in the recent production titled Everyone Is Doing Great in 2021.
The One Tree Hill actor initially met Park when he helmed an episode of The Royals in 2015, a show that had a shared production team with the popular CW drama. Lafferty later directed four additional episodes of the E! series, while his partner portrayed Princess Eleanor, one of the main characters, throughout all four seasons.
While the couple has generally kept their relationship private, Lafferty couldn't contain his excitement when he proposed to Park in the autumn of 2020, taking to social media to announce the news to his followers.
The Right Stuff alum shared a photo in September of the newly engaged couple snuggling in the kitchen, captioning it with a simple "She said yeah ️."
In January 2021, Park exclusively revealed to We why she and Lafferty prefer to keep their romance away from the public eye.
"We value our privacy, but we also want to express our gratitude for the show and connect with our loyal supporters and fans," expressed the actress from "Shooting in Vain". "Occasionally, we do share glimpses of our lives."
However, this boundary doesn't extend to collaborating on screen. Park revealed in January 2021 that the couple conceived the concept for "Everyone Is Doing Great" together. (The series debuted on Hulu in the same month.)
"We were excited to portray a married couple and thought it would be a great opportunity. The chemistry between us is undeniable," the actor who starred in Elephant Princess expressed. "We genuinely enjoy working together, and that is something I truly appreciate in our relationship. It's wonderful to be able to collaborate and pursue our passions together. So, we thought it would be incredibly enjoyable to explore the contrasting dynamics of Jeremy and Andrea, which are obviously different from our own personal relationship."
After four months, Lafferty once again shared glimpses of his life with Park, expressing his admiration for her book, Sugar High, while showering her with praise as his fiancée.
"I am incredibly proud and in awe of this remarkable woman. Having witnessed her dedication throughout the years-long process, the day has finally arrived for her to share her creation with the world," expressed the Small Town Crime actor on Instagram in May 2021. He further added that the memoir delves into Park's battle with type 1 diabetes and her remarkable journey in her career. "It is a genuine, candid, humorous, and motivating expedition that will leave you with the belief that no matter what obstacles come your way, you have the ability to accomplish your aspirations in this lifetime."
A year later, it was exclusively revealed by Us that the couple exchanged vows in Hawaii. Lafferty's former OTH co-star, Stephen Colletti, who co-created Everyone Is Doing Great, served as one of the groomsmen. Park had her Royals co-star and lifelong best friend, Tom Austen, by her side as a part of her bridal party.
