From Marriage to Twins: Discovering the Relationship Journey of Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell's love story is genuine. Romijn, while guest-hosting The Wendy Williams Show with O’Connell in February 2019, shared how they first met at a pool party in Las Vegas, specifically the Maxim Hot 100 party.

O'Connell shared more details about their serendipitous meeting in 2004, explaining that Rebecca was in the VIP section of the party while he wasn't. Spotting her in the exclusive area, newly single at the time, he was instantly attracted and thought to himself, "I need to be with her." They happened to be at a pool party, so he took off his shirt, did some pushups, and flexed to impress her.

They eventually tied the knot in July 2007 and happily became parents to twin daughters, Dolly and Charlie, in December 2008.

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell's love story is truly authentic. "We actually crossed paths at a Maxim Hot 100 event in Las Vegas – no kidding," Romijn shared during her guest-hosting gig on The Wendy Williams Show alongside O'Connell in February 2019. "Believe it or not, it was a pool party in Vegas."

O'Connell provided more details about their serendipitous meeting in 2004, explaining, "Rebecca was in the exclusive VIP area of the party while I was not. When I caught sight of her in the VIP section, I noticed that she was newly single, and I immediately thought to myself, 'I have to make a move on her.' Since it was a pool party, I decided to showcase my physique by taking off my shirt and doing some pushups right then and there. To enhance my appearance, I even applied some oil and flexed my muscles."

Afterwards, the couple tied the knot in July 2007 and later became parents to twin daughters, Dolly and Charlie, who were born in December 2008.

The cohosts of The Real Love Boat, Dolly and Charlie, were warmly welcomed as twin daughters. During a guest appearance on The Talk in May 2022, Romijn's husband, O'Connell, asked her what she cherished the most about being a mother to their daughters.

Romijn, a former Star Trek: Discovery cast member, responded by expressing her joy in snuggling with and receiving hugs from her daughters. She also mentioned the fulfillment of witnessing their growth into remarkable individuals and the privilege of shaping their world. Romijn added that it is an honor to introduce them to the music, movies, and books that they appreciate. Raising them fills her with immense pride.

The couple renewed their vows on the auspicious date of November 11, 2011 — 11/11/11.

2013

Romijn shared a snap of her, O’Connell and their daughters wearing matching snowmen pajamas and snuggling with their three dogs and two cats.

2015

During an April episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the actor who starred in Jerry Maguire shared that his daughters knew about their mother's past marriage to Stamos. O'Connell mentioned that his girls had genuine feelings for Uncle Jesse's character in Full House, which they watched repeatedly. He then decided to have a candid conversation with them, saying, "Girls, I have something wild to tell you."

The television presenter then joked, “My kids really want to know why Mom isn’t still with him. [They say], ‘That was a mistake, Mom.'”

2016

The year concluded with a tropical retreat for the family of four. In a December Instagram post, Romijn shared a photo featuring her husband elegantly gliding across the water on a paddle board alongside their beloved children, Dolly and Charlie.

2019

When questioned about the key to his enduring marriage, O'Connell humorously responded with a witty remark. "The secret? It's truly surprising, even more so for me than anyone else. Want to know the trick? Well, have twins. You won't be able to simply call it quits because neither of you would want to handle the twins alone. So, staying together becomes the only option," quipped the former Sliders star during an October charity event for Much Love Animal Rescue, as shared with Hollywood Life.

He continued: “No, you know what? Lot of animals, we have a lot of animals in our house, and that helps too.”

2020

The actor from Crossing Jordan confessed that he had initial concerns about his relationship with Romijn during the Coronavirus pandemic. "I have to admit - I might get into trouble for saying this - but when the quarantine started... I wasn't certain if our family could withstand it, and if my marriage could handle it," he revealed exclusively to Us in July. "But I must say, it has surprisingly been quite enjoyable. We might actually make it."

2021

O’Connell joked about his wife’s ex-husband moving into their neighborhood during an October appearance on WWHL.

He admitted that he hasn't caught a glimpse of him yet, but he takes the extra effort to ensure his hair looks impeccable every day, just in case he does come across him. He remains watchful, hoping for the chance to meet. It would be incredibly welcoming if their paths were to intersect.

July 2022

On their 15th wedding anniversary, O'Connell lovingly wrote a heartfelt and humorous tribute to Romijn.

"Despite my mommy issues and tendency to be frugal, this amazing person continuously stands by my side, even though they are leagues above me. Infinitely above, to be exact. Happy anniversary! Love you, babe," he captioned a selfie of the couple enjoying a swim together.

October 2022

The married couple teamed up to cohost the CBS reality romance series The Real Love Boat.

During a conversation with E! News in October to promote the show, Romijn disclosed that her husband faced difficulties in becoming overly emotionally attached to the contestants.

"Jerry's reactions were intense. Whenever someone got eliminated, he would exclaim, 'Nooo!' His emotions were always evident. We were informed that it was crucial for us to maintain a neutral stance. This proved to be a real test for both of us, but Jerry particularly struggled," she explained.

October 2022

Upon their initial encounter, O'Connell humorously shared that he had a limited opportunity to make a lasting impression on his future spouse. "My presence in Rebecca Romijn's life can be attributed solely to the fact that, at the age of 30, I resembled Eminem in the movie 8 Mile," he confided exclusively to Us. Recalling the moment, he disclosed that he even took it upon himself to engage in a lively performance in an attempt to dazzle her. "I had just one chance. That was the extent of it."

Romijn, for her part, added: "Jerry was utterly charming, as you can imagine. And hilarious, and of course I fell for that immediately."

O’Connell celebrated the duo’s wedding anniversary by sharing a throwback photo of their nuptials.

During an interview on Access, O'Connell was questioned about the tell-all memoir If You Would Have Told Me by Stamos, in which he detailed his heartbreaking separation from Romijn.

"It's not my place to comment," he said. "I would prefer if my wife addressed that matter."

While O'Connell acknowledged that Romijn was unaware of the content in Stamos' book, he humorously declined to provide further commentary, explaining, "My wife and I are having a great day together."
