Recap of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End episode 18
After parting ways with Sein in the last episode, Frieren, Fern, and Stark arrived in the Kuhl region, moving closer to the City of Auberst. Since the city was still far off, they chose to travel by coach.
They learned that only a chosen few could receive the First Class Mage Exam certificate, which was crucial for them to access the Northern Plateau.
Despite being a thousand-year-old mage with extensive experience, Frieren admitted to having been defeated 11 times by mages with weaker magic, six of whom were human.

Elsewhere, the mage Ubel clashed with a group of bandits, but was eventually interrupted and driven off by Kraft, the elf. It was later revealed that Ubel had previously taken down some bandits in the forest.
Meanwhile, Kraft was eager to meet Frieren in Auberst. In a later scene, the elven mage and Fern finally reached their destination and were informed that the exam would take place in two months.
Frieren and Fern dedicated themselves to rigorous training in preparation for the upcoming test. On the day of the exam, Genau, the test proctor, divided 57 mages into 19 groups of three. Frieren joined Lawine and Kanne in one group, while Fern teamed up with Ubel and Land. The following day, Genau outlined the rules for the first exam, which required each group to capture a Stille and confine it in a cage by sunset.

Editor's P/S
As a hard fan of the anime series "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," I am eagerly anticipating the release of episode 19, titled "Well-Laid Plans." The previous episode left us with a thrilling cliffhanger, as Frieren and her companions discovered a simple way to capture the elusive Stille bird. I can't wait to see how they will implement their strategy and progress through the initial stage of the First Class Mage Exam. The stakes are high, as only a chosen few will receive the certificate that grants access to the Northern Plateau.
Frieren's journey has been filled with challenges and triumphs, and I am invested in her growth and success. Despite her immense power and experience, she has faced defeat in the past, which adds depth to her character. The introduction of new characters, such as Ubel and Kraft, brings intrigue and complexity to the narrative. The dynamic between Frieren and her companions is also a highlight of the series, and I enjoy witnessing their camaraderie and teamwork.
