Freddie Prinze Jr., 47, shared that he has the best Christmas when there are no gifts for him under the tree. "I don't ever want anything," he told We earlier this month while discussing his partnership with Libby's Vegetables. "I like the things that [my kids] make me, but I talk to Sarah [Michelle Gellar] every year and I say, 'Don't give me anything,' and she'll just give me a little something that she knows that I like, but it's always a little thing. I have the stuff I want."
Prinze Jr. remembered a discussion he had with Gellar, 46, regarding his dislike for receiving gifts during the holidays.
"I recall telling her one year, 'If I want something, I'll get it,'" he shared with Us. "And she responded, 'Oh, there's the Christmas spirit.' I explained, 'Well, no, I just don't want you to spend your money on me.' And she said, 'Then just say that! What you said was terrible, it sounded like Scrooge.'"
The actor has confessed to apologizing to his wife for not having the Christmas spirit, but he enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He also mentioned that they have been going on vacation for Christmas in recent years to avoid the mess of picking up on Christmas morning. He stated that they will be in a warm place where they can enjoy activities like surfing.

During Christmas, the Gellar-Prinze Jr. family enjoys a warm and sunny destination, but still makes time for a smaller holiday celebration before they leave. According to Prinze Jr., the kids help with opening gifts for a few minutes before getting caught up playing with their new toys, leaving the parents to clean up the wrapping paper and trash.

Prinze Jr. may not be a huge fan of Christmas, but he does love Thanksgiving. He revealed that he plans to cook a turkey and all the classic sides for the holiday, and has also partnered with Libby Vegetables to share his special recipes for its “Thanks & Giving” program. The partnership with Meals on Wheels of America means that every person who shares, likes, comments, and uses the hashtag ‘Libby’s Gives Thanks’ on their Instagram page will result in a donation of one coupon, which can be redeemed for one can of food, up to 500,000 cans or coupons.

The campaign is scheduled to run until the end of December. Prinze Jr. expressed his excitement about being involved in distributing 500,000 cans of food, stating, "If I can be a part of them giving out 500,000 cans of food, then that would be awesome. I don’t know how to dance a jig, but I’ll dance one if the goal is reached."
