The Twisted Relationship of Gabi and Sir
Found star Mark-Paul Gosselaar has teased the ending to season 1 of the unique procedural drama, indicating it will further explore Gabi and Sir's backstory. The series focuses on Gabi Mosely, head of a crisis management firm, who relies on her former abductor, Sir, to find kidnapped people. However, her reliance on him is a secret, as she has the former kidnapper locked away underneath her house.

Speaking with TV Insider, Gosselaar explained that more of Gabi and Sir's backstory will be revealed in the final episodes of Found season 1. The actor revealed the show will leap back in time to when the pair first met, and why Sir decided to forcibly make her his "daughter."
Gosselaar's words exhibit how much the adult protagonist's mindset was influenced by her childhood, something the final episodes will explore more thoroughly. By having a larger focus on Sir's connection to Gabi, the final episodes of the show can further underscore their twisted relationship and the trauma she had to endure.
Unveiling the Secrets
Found season 1, episode 11 revealed that Sir didn't kill Annie, another kidnapped student Gabi formed a bond with when she was abducted. While this means she could still be out there somewhere, the show's protagonist is having trouble keeping her imprisoned kidnapper a secret.
In the present day, it's also possible Gabi's dark secret will come to light. Given her growing relationship with Trent, he may discover Sir's cage and decide to take action. If someone does find out her former kidnapper is in her basement before the season ends, then Found season 2 could have a much different dynamic between its two main characters.
What's Next for Found
Since Found has already been renewed for season 2, it remains to be seen just how much backstory season 1's last two episodes will cover. Found will return to NBC on January 9, 2024.
