Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Shanola Hampton, who play villain and hero on their NBC show, Found, have developed a strong bond while working together.
Gosselaar, 49, exclusively tells We that each cast member brings a special energy to the show that he and the audience really connect with. He also enjoys filming scenes with Hampton.
Hampton, 46, previously appeared on Showtime’s Shameless from 2011 to 2021, while Gosselaar is renowned for his role on Saved by the Bell. Their latest project, Found, follows Gabi Mosely (Hampton), a crisis management specialist who leads a team dedicated to locating missing individuals overlooked by the media and law enforcement. Gabi enlists the help of her own childhood kidnapper, Hugh “Sir” Evans (Gosselaar), to assist her in solving cases while keeping him confined in her basement.
“I have to say that, with the exception of maybe one scene, the tense scenes I share underground with Gosselaar in the basement are ones I’m really proud of,” Hampton tells Us.
Gosselaar adds, "You do really good work, though. I have watched the shows when they’re on, sometimes — I don’t like to watch myself. But I really enjoy the procedural aspects of the show, I think they’re very smartly written."
Shanola Hampton and Mark-Paul Gosselaar are joined by an ensemble cast, including Gabrielle Walsh, Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, A’Zaria Latrell Carter, Arlen Escarpeta, and Karan Oberoi, all of whom Gosselaar is thrilled to collaborate with.
The actors are incredibly talented, especially Kelli who really impresses me," he enthuses. "Her scenes on the bus, particularly as a father, really hit home. She's truly remarkable." Margaret Reed, played by Williams, is the lead investigator for Gabi as well as searching for her abducted son, Jamie, 13 years ago.
Even though the show deals with serious subject matter, the cast manages to have fun on set. According to Hampton, Oberoi is the biggest prankster on set and she describes him as an "idiot, in the best way." Gosselaar is also known for teasing Hampton between takes and admits that she's the only one he can prank, as certain scenes are too dark for such behavior.

On the other hand, Hampton is a more vulnerable target. Gosselaar once playfully informed the entire cast and crew that she had been cast in Ghostbusters after she arrived on set wearing a jumpsuit. "I can't tolerate him," Hampton tells Us.
Found features standout performances from both Gosselaar and Hampton, but according to Gosselaar, it's the supporting cast members that keep him hooked on the show. "I'm brought back every week by the other cast members," he adds.
