Evolution of Controllable Vehicles in Fortnite
Controllable vehicles have been through quite an evolution in Fortnite. In the earliest seasons of Battle Royale, they simply didn’t exist, even though they were a big part of other popular titles in the genre.
Then, players got their first taste of what drivable vehicles could be like in the game when Epic Games added shopping carts in Season 4. Traversing the map with them was limiting, though, as players only had control when pushing the carts but not while riding in them.
This was rectified in the following season with the addition of the All Terrain Kart (ATK), and a variety of drivable vehicles have made their way into the game since then.

Leak Report: Vehicle Hijacking in Chapter 5 of Fortnite
A recent leak report from Loolo_WRLD on Twitter claims that Epic is working on a gameplay system that will allow players to hijack other people’s vehicles in Chapter 5 of Fortnite.
However, there might be limitations to how players hijack cars. The leak also lists the ways in which hijacking can fail. Players will not be able to pull off a successful hijacking if the vehicle is going too fast, hits a sharp turn, or crashes.
Speculations and Community Reactions
Fortnite is a game that features a ton of fun activities for players to do, aside from battling it out for that first place victory. Since the shopping cart days, Fortnite players have found ways to use vehicles as a tool to aid in their antics and create memorable gameplay moments.
With the ability to hijack vehicles, players will surely find cool and inventive ways to utilize the feature.
Epic Games has not made any official announcements regarding this potential new mechanic in Fortnite, so whether hijacking vehicles will actually be added to Fortnite is yet to be seen. The leak has some degree of believability to it, however, as the feature seems like it would be more of a small addition than a complete game changer. Though there has been no confirmation, it’s still an interesting prospect to consider nonetheless.
