Former UFC star Mark Coleman is currently in the hospital, where he is able to breathe on his own. This positive update comes after he heroically saved his parents from a house fire in Ohio, as confirmed by his daughter Kenzie.

Just the day before, Coleman's other daughter Morgan had taken to Instagram to share the scary news that her father was fighting for his life. She explained that he had bravely entered the burning house multiple times on Tuesday to rescue both of his parents from the dangerous fire.

In a recent update shared by Kenzie on her father's Facebook and Instagram accounts, the former UFC heavyweight champion is shown sitting up in bed and chatting.

Kenzie expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of love and support, stating that her dad is now breathing on his own. She added, "God is good. Miracles do happen."

Coleman, visibly emotional, exclaimed, "I'm the happiest man in the world! Sweet God, I'm so lucky. I can't believe my parents are alive."

Following his hospital admission in Toledo, Ohio, Wes Sims, a longtime friend and former UFC fighter, shared on Facebook that Coleman had been "intubated & sedated."

Coleman also tried to save a dog named Hammer from the fire after rescuing his parents. Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, Hammer did not survive. Coleman was then airlifted to the hospital, and his actions were described as heroic by Morgan.

In a video, the 59-year-old Coleman shared, "I had to make a quick decision when I left my room and saw how bad it was. The smoke was overwhelming, and I almost went outside but decided to go back in and rescue my parents. I was relieved to save them, but I couldn't find Hammer."

Kenzie shared the video on her Instagram story and thanked everyone for their support.

In her message, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude, saying, "I truly appreciate all of you. When I was feeling down and out, you all lifted me up again."

Coleman also received supportive messages from fellow UFC stars in the comments of the Instagram post. Jon Jones, the current UFC heavyweight champion, wrote, "Glad you’re OK stud." Former two-time champion Stipe Miocic also expressed his relief, saying, "So happy you are ok brother."

Coleman is known as one of the most influential fighters in UFC history. He was the first-ever UFC heavyweight champion and retired with a 16-10 record. In 2008, he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Before entering the world of MMA, Coleman made a name for himself as an amateur wrestler. He won an NCAA championship at Ohio State in 1988 and also competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.
