Kevin Alejandro is sharing his thoughts on what may happen next for Manny following the surprising season 2 finale of Fire Country, where he was arrested.
In the episode that aired on Friday, May 17, Manny managed to make it back to Edgewater despite having a warrant out for his arrest. He rushed to walk his daughter Gabriela (played by Stephanie Arcila) down the aisle, but unfortunately, he was unable to stay at the wedding altar due to police officers waiting to take him into custody outside the church.
Alejandro, who is 48 years old, shared with us exclusively that he was uncertain if this would finally be the wakeup call for Manny.
He expressed, "I believe there might still be a bit more to hit rock bottom. However, for this season, it certainly feels like we've reached a low point in this situation. Our writers are skilled at crafting and reshaping rock bottom moments."
Alejandro mentioned that Manny might continue to push boundaries in the future, jokingly saying, "I'm not sure what season 3 will bring. But I have a feeling we'll see more of Manny doing his thing and making us wonder, 'Oh, Manny. What are you up to now?'"

After Bode made a false confession and took the blame for drugs at the fire camp, Manny was demoted from running Three Rock. In season 2, Manny struggled to adjust to his new role while longing to be back in charge at Three Rock.
Alejandro understood what Manny went through as he adapted to the changes in the story line.
"I formed a strong bond with the Three Rock Boys in season one. We were like a real squad. So, in season 2, it was tough for me because I wasn't with them as often. It felt like life imitating art when I saw Jules [Latimer] having the same fun I had with the guys," he remembered. "But it was a positive challenge for me."
Manny faced more trouble when he punched Luke (Michael Trucco) for trying to close down Three Rock. Charges were filed against Manny, and if he avoids his arrest, he could end up in prison. Despite not knowing what will happen to Manny in season 3, Alejandro is looking forward to the potential outcomes.
Alejandro was particularly intrigued by Us' theory that Manny might return to Three Rock, but this time as a prisoner.

"I would love to see the Manny that we had envisioned. He went through the program, excelled, and eventually became a captain. Now we can imagine how he looked in orange and how he appeared in that world. I find that perspective quite intriguing," he shared. "I'm not entirely sure about all the rules for entering Three Rock or if it even makes sense. But I am really curious to see if that storyline could be explored."
Despite Manny's mistakes throughout the seasons, Alejandro has always supported his character's journey. He stated, "I never criticize Manny. I try to understand Manny based on what I believe the writers have portrayed with pure heart and love in guiding his choices. Therefore, I refrain from passing judgment on him."
Alejandro is already thinking about what will happen next in Manny’s story now that Fire Country has been renewed for a third season.
He believes that Manny represents redemption, especially now that he has a chance to make up for a big mistake. Alejandro hopes that the show will continue to explore Manny's journey of redemption.
He acknowledges that everyone makes mistakes and faces challenges in life. However, he emphasizes the importance of learning from those mistakes and gaining strength to move forward.
