The film premiered at the 48th Toronto International Film Festival and received critical acclaim for its campy nature, self-awareness, and lighthearted moments. Although the release date is yet to be announced, Empire Magazine has shared a new still from the movie to build excitement among viewers.

In the image, Wolfhard and Bryk can be seen conversing with other actors against the backdrop of a lake. The overall atmosphere of the image suggests a nostalgic camp setting, complete with typical slasher movie elements. The story revolves around Jason Hochberg, who attends a counselor weekend at his cherished Camp Pineway. As he struggles to connect with his younger co-workers, everything changes when he discovers that a masked killer has already murdered the camp owners and is planning to strike again.

Experienced in the horror genre, the duo, who previously starred together in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, found great pleasure in creating a slasher film. While Bryk's vision for the feature was a classic slasher with a touch of gore, Wolfhard drew inspiration from renowned figures like Greg Nicotero and George Romero. "I have always admired the works of Greg Nicotero. Films like Evil Dead II and Night Of The Living Dead had a big influence on me," he expressed.

In order to devise a more inventive approach to escalating the body count, the Stranger Things actor confesses, "We had an absolute blast," further remarking, "We invested years into determining which deaths should be included in the film." Bryk adds, "Throughout the entire production, our primary objective was to amuse one another during our Zoom writing sessions. It can be seen as a horror-comedy, or perhaps a comedy-horror, depending on how you choose to interpret it." The stellar cast of the movie comprises Fred Hechinger, Abby Quinn, Pardis Saremi, D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Krista Nazaire, Matthew Finlan, Julia Lalonde, Daniel Gravelle, Julia Doyle, Susan Coyne, Rosebud Baker, and Adam Pally.
