Caution: Spoilers ahead for Fast X. Sung Kang, who portrays Han Lue in the Fast and Furious series, has shared his thoughts on the latest film's unexpected cameo return of one of the franchise's biggest stars. Kang first played Han in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift in 2006 and has appeared in every film in the main franchise, except for The Fate of the Furious in 2017, where his character supposedly died.
In a recent interview with Esquire, Kang discussed the return of another character from the dead in Fast X, Han's love interest, Gisele Yashar, played by Gal Gadot. Gadot's return was unexpected, and she was not the only one to make a surprise appearance at the end of the film. Kang also commented on how Gadot's success as Wonder Woman in the DC Universe has helped attract more fans to their movies. Here's what Kang had to say:

We all saw it coming. Fast fans are a demanding bunch, and they always get what they ask for. Gal Gadot's skyrocketing career with Wonder Woman has only added to her popularity and the love she receives from fans around the world. It's amazing that another franchise can contribute to the Fast universe. The past year has been a renaissance for moviegoers, with films such as Top Gun: Maverick reigniting our passion for cinema. Gal's ability to connect with her audience is exactly what we want to see. But what's next for Gisele and Han?
At this stage of the Fast and Furious franchise, it's become somewhat expected for characters to be brought back from the dead. However, the resurrections of Han and Gisele were still major surprises, given that they were such integral members of Dominic Toretto's crew. Gisele appeared to meet her end in Fast & Furious 6, sacrificing herself to save Han before plummeting out of a plane. But in the final moments of Fast X, Gisele made a triumphant return, emerging from a submarine to rescue Letty and Cipher from an Antarctic prison.
Han's supposed death at the end of Tokyo Drift left fans heartbroken, but his recent return in F9 has given hope for a possible reunion with his former love interest, Gisele. As the two were last seen living together in Hong Kong, it's only natural to expect an emotional reunion between the two in Fast & Furious 11.
With Mr. Nobody's help, Han was able to fake his death, and it's possible that he could have done the same for Gisele, a former Mossad agent. This shared experience could lead to a stronger bond between the two as they assist Dom with the challenges that arise in future films. Perhaps, once their work is done, Han and Gisele can finally return to Hong Kong and live happily ever after with Han's adoptive daughter, Elle.
