Fashion at the ‘Mean Girls’ Premiere in 2004: Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams and Celeb Style

Step back in time to the ‘Mean Girls’ world premiere in 2004 as Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, and other stars showcase their glamorous red carpet looks.

It's been two decades since Mean Girls popularized the term "fetch," and the impact is still felt today.

Back on April 19, 2004, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, and the rest of the Mean Girls crew attended the movie's world premiere at the Cinerama Dome in Los Angeles. Lohan, known for her earlier role in The Parent Trap, was making a shift to more mature roles, while McAdams was just starting out in Hollywood.

McAdams admitted that despite her success in Mean Girls, she still finds comedy acting "intimidating." In a 2018 interview with The New York Times, she expressed her admiration for true comedians, believing that comedy is a talent some are born with, while others strive to catch up.

On the other hand, Lohan made a cameo appearance in the Mean Girls musical film, which premiered in January 2024.

After the film was released, codirector Samantha Jayne shared with IndieWire how eagerly they had been anticipating Lindsay Lohan's time on set. "We were literally counting down the days," she said. "She was so wonderful and warm."

Now, let's take a look at what the Mean Girls cast wore to the movie's premiere 20 years ago.

What Stars Wore to the ‘Mean Girls’ Premiere in 2004: Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams and More

It’s been 20 years since Mean Girls made fetch happen, and the world has never been the same.

On April 19, 2004, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, and the other actors from Mean Girls attended the movie's world premiere at the Cinerama Dome in Los Angeles. Lohan, who had gained fame as a child star in The Parent Trap remake from 1998, was starting to take on more mature roles. McAdams, on the other hand, was a newer face in Hollywood at the time.

Even though McAdams became a standout star in Mean Girls, she later admitted that comedy still makes her feel "intimidated" as an actress. In a 2018 interview with The New York Times, she expressed her admiration for true comedians, believing that comedy is a talent some are born with, while others have to work hard to keep up.

Lohan also made a cameo appearance in the Mean Girls musical movie released in January 2024.

After the film's release, codirector Samantha Jayne expressed her excitement, stating, "We were eagerly anticipating Lohan's appearance on set. She was truly fantastic and very friendly."
