In the previous chapter, Gojo utilized Black Flash to restore his Cursed Energy Reserve and heal himself. Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236 spoilers show Gojo meeting his loved ones before his death
Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236 kicks off with Gojo encountering Geto once more, this time in an eerie illusion or dream-like setting. Geto warmly greets him with his signature "Yo," causing Gojo to feel a sense of unease. Reflecting on his previous teachings to his students, where he emphasized the idea of Jujutsu Sorcerers dying alone, Gojo admits that it may not entirely hold true in the end.
He informs Geto that there will be consequences for his death in relation to Gojo's father, but he entrusts the resolution of that matter to Shoko. Geto inquires about his battle with Sukuna, and Gojo acknowledges that the King of Curses was formidable. He believes that Sukuna may have emerged victorious even without Megumi's Cursed technique, and that Sukuna didn't even utilize his full power.
Gojo laments that while he gave his utmost in the fight against Sukuna, the King of Curses held back and couldn't fully enjoy the battle like he did. He then expresses to Geto his desire for his friend to be present to support him alongside his students. In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236, Nanami appears and reminds Geto of his previous statement about leaving everything to Gojo.
It’s not just Gojo's sense of duty that compels him to protect the Jujutsu Society, but also the sheer exhilaration he derives from engaging in battle. Gojo expresses gratitude for meeting his end at the hands of someone more powerful, rather than succumbing to a debilitating illness. Nanami playfully taunts him for sounding like a samurai general, while Haibara, joining Nanami, adds her disapproval.
Nanami expresses his lack of support for Gojo's death, yet still feels sympathetic towards him. When Gojo inquires about Nanami's experience, he recalls Mei Mei's advice to explore a new side of himself by heading "north" and to stay true to himself by going "south." Nanami ultimately chose to remain true to himself and expresses gratitude towards Haibara for being present during his journey.
After bidding farewell to Geto, Yaga, Nanami, Haibara, Riko, and Kuroi, Gojo is revealed to be in an airport waiting room, most likely in Okinawa. The scene then transitions to Shinjuku, where Gojo's lifeless body is seen lying on the concrete, presumably indicating his death in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236.
