Rosie O'Donnell stated in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, published on Thursday, June 15, that she has no intentions of repairing her strained friendship with Ellen DeGeneres. Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, O'Donnell, 61, expressed a lack of trust in DeGeneres, believing that she is not someone she can rely on to be a part of her life.

Their friendship took a turn after DeGeneres publicly revealed her homosexuality on an episode of Ellen in 1997, according to O'Donnell.

O'Donnell shared that it was a peculiar situation, as people couldn't fathom the idea of two lesbians living in the same town. She further explained that their paths diverged after both achieving individual successes.

In a recent conversation, O'Donnell disclosed that DeGeneres reached out to her through a text message a few weeks ago. During their conversation, DeGeneres brought up a hurtful comment that had caused their relationship to deteriorate.

O'Donnell recalled a moment on Larry King Live when Larry King questioned the decline of her show, to which she responded with an explanation. She then recounted a quote from Ellen, stating that they were not friends. Surprised by the comment, O'Donnell and her wife were watching TV in bed at the time. O'Donnell emphasized that she would never make such a remark about a close friend. She further mentioned her support for Ellen during a difficult period in her life, expressing disappointment that Ellen did not reciprocate during her own challenging time in the media.

During their recent text exchange, DeGeneres, who has been married to Portia de Rossi since 2008, apologized to O'Donnell for her comments on Larry King Live. O'Donnell mentioned that she didn't recall making those remarks, but DeGeneres seemed to have learned about it from her appearance on Andy Cohen's show. O'Donnell even vividly remembered the incident, going so far as to have T-shirts made for her staff that read, "I don't know Rosie. We're not friends."

We reached out to DeGeneres for a comment, but she has not responded yet.
