Scott Stapp, the lead singer of Creed, was married to Jaclyn Stapp for 18 years. A friend of Jaclyn's shared with We that she has been through a lot, and her friends are happy that she decided to file for divorce, giving her the chance to create a more stable life for herself and her children.
The couple got married in July 2006 and later had three children: Milan, who is now 17, Daniel, who is now 13, and Anthony, who is now 9. Jaclyn also adopted Scott's oldest son, Jagger, 25, from his previous marriage to Hillaree Burns.
Scott, who is now 50, once expressed his gratitude for Jaclyn in an interview with BreatheCast in June 2014. He said, "I wouldn't even be here without this woman. I just thank God every day for putting her in my life. I believe that wives can be a divine instrument for God in their husband's lives, and that's such an important role."
Jaclyn, 43, filed for divorce in 2023 after almost twenty years of marriage. However, she decided to withdraw her petition before Scott could file his own in May. Their separation was officially confirmed a year later.
A representative for Jaclyn shared in a statement to Us in May, "After much thought and prayers, Jaclyn has made the difficult decision to end her 18-year marriage with Scott. It has been a tough journey for her, and although this is not the future she had hoped for, she wishes him well. The well-being of their children is her top priority, and she kindly requests privacy during this personal time."
