Creed frontman Scott Stapp and his wife, Jaclyn Stapp, have decided to go their separate ways after being married for 18 years. It has been confirmed.
A representative for the 50-year-old singer shared that Scott plans to handle this challenging period in private, out of consideration for their family.
Scott and Jaclyn, who are 43 years old, have decided to proceed with their divorce. Jaclyn first filed for divorce in June 2022 but later changed her mind and withdrew her request. In May 2023, Scott submitted his own legal papers for the divorce, which was almost six months before Creed announced their upcoming reunion tour.
Scott and Jaclyn first met at a Muscular Dystrophy Association gala in New York and eventually got married in February 2006.
“Finding love [with Jaclyn] is one of my greatest accomplishments,” Scott previously told Us in 2010.
Scott had also credited his marriage for restoring his faith.

"I owe everything to this woman," Scott expressed to BreatheCast back in June 2014. "I am grateful to God every day for bringing her into my life. Wives play a crucial role as a divine instrument in their husband's life."
The couple, who are currently separated, have three children together: Milan, 17, Daniel, 13, and Anthony, 9. Scott also has a son named Jagger, 25, from his previous marriage to Hillaree Burns.
The Grammy winner became famous as the lead singer of rock band Creed. Recently, the group has been on a sold-out reunion tour following Scott's release of his solo album, Higher Power.
Scott shared with Esquire in March that the release of Higher Power is different this time. By the time the album is out, five songs from the record will already be available to the public. Unlike before, where fans only heard a couple of songs before the album release, this time fans will have more insight into the album. Scott is eager for fans to listen to the whole album, as it is meant to be a complete narrative from start to finish.
Scott shared, "My journey began with a desire to reconnect with my higher power, whom I refer to as God. As I navigate this new sober life, I've come to understand that my spiritual well-being is crucial for everything else in my life to fall into place. While I was facing numerous challenges during the creation of this record, I prefer to leave the specific details open to interpretation. This is an ongoing process for me, and I have yet to fully experience the final two songs."
It is worth noting that Scott has been sober since 2015.
Editor's P/S:
The news of Scott Stapp and Jaclyn Stapp's divorce after 18 years of marriage comes as a disheartening blow to fans who have witnessed their enduring love through the years. Scott's candid reflections on his marriage, crediting Jaclyn for restoring his faith and playing a divine role in his life, are particularly poignant. The decision to divorce, despite Jaclyn's initial withdrawal of her filing, suggests that the challenges they faced ultimately proved insurmountable.
It is also notable that Scott's divorce proceedings commenced shortly before Creed announced their upcoming reunion tour. This timing raises questions about the potential impact of personal turmoil on the band's dynamic and upcoming performances. However, it is important to respect the privacy of the family during this difficult time and wish them all the best as they navigate this challenging transition.
