Jesse Lee Soffer has had romantic relationships within the One Chicago family several times, but he has not yet found his ideal partner.
The former Chicago P.D. actor gained attention in 2014 when he was rumored to be dating his on-screen partner Sophia Bush. The two met on set while portraying Detective Jay Halstead and Detective Erin Lindsay.
The fan-favorite characters, known to fans as "Linstead," had a fiery on-screen relationship that lasted for several seasons until Bush left the show in 2017. However, their real-life romance had already ended in 2016.
Soffer teased, "Who hasn't experienced heartbreak?" during a November 2017 interview with Chicago Now's Nekia Nichelle. "I don't know anyone who hasn't gone through a tough breakup. It's a tough experience, but it ultimately makes you stronger."

Jesse Lee Soffer’s Dating History: Former ‘Chicago P.D.’ Costar Sophia Bush and More
Jesse Lee Soffer has found love within the One Chicago family on multiple occasions, but he has yet to find The One.
The ex-Chicago P.D. actor gained attention in 2014 for his connection to his TV co-star Sophia Bush. Their characters, known as "Linstead" by fans, had an on-screen romance while playing Detective Jay Halstead and Detective Erin Lindsay. Although their characters' spark lasted for several seasons before Bush's departure in 2017, their real-life relationship ended in 2016.
"Everyone goes through heartbreak," Soffer joked in a November 2017 interview with Nekia Nichelle of Chicago Now. "I don't know anyone who hasn't experienced a difficult heartbreak. I believe it makes you stronger."

Sophia Bush
Bush and Soffer ignited rumors of a romance in 2014, just as they started collaborating on Chicago P.D. Their relationship came to an end in July 2015 after almost a year of dating. They briefly reunited in September of the same year, but ultimately ended things in 2016.

Torrey DeVitto
In August 2018, we revealed that DeVitto and Soffer were dating. According to an insider, "[They] complement each other beautifully." Soffer later confirmed the relationship exclusively to Us in September, stating, "It’s great, it’s awesome."
The duo split the following year. Us exclusively revealed in September 2023 that DeVitto is engaged to Jared LaPine.

Tracy Spiridakos
Spiridakos joined the cast of Chicago P.D. at the end of season 4 in 2017, portraying Detective Hailey Upton. Upton was paired with Halstead as partners, and by season 9, they had become a married couple. Even after Soffer left the show, his character remained connected to Upton. In October 2023, Spiridakos announced that season 11 would be her final season.
Talking exclusively to Us in December 2021, Soffer said, "It's been easy. She’s a great scene partner to have. We've been playing partners and love interests for so long, it's second nature."
In January 2024, rumors surfaced that Soffer and Spiridakos have been secretly dating for years. Neither actor has addressed the romance speculation publicly.
