Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants have played a pivotal role in the drama-filled storyline of Vanderpump Rules since its debut on Bravo in 2013. The show's cast was initially introduced as they navigated the highs and lows of working at Vanderpump's Los Angeles establishments, with SUR being the main focus.
Over time, TV personalities have come a long way from being bartenders and waitresses, but Vanderpump's restaurants often still remain at the center of the action. Some of the stars have even gone on to launch their own ventures and sought advice from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum.
However, the personal dramas of the cast members have sometimes affected their earnings. When the news of Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix's breakup after almost a decade of dating due to his affair with their costar Raquel Leviss was revealed in March 2023, Sandoval's career suffered a setback.
Following the scandal, fans turned against Schwartz & Sandy's, which is co-owned by the Missouri native and his business partner and best friend, Tom Schwartz. The duo also established TomTom with the assistance of Vanderpump. A statement released via the Schwartz & Sandy's Instagram account in March 2023 acknowledged the support received in response to recent events, yet also recognized the outrage directed towards their businesses. The statement emphasized the dedication of those involved in creating the restaurant, despite not being famous.
The West Hollywood establishment addressed the unfavorable feedback left on Yelp following the split, acknowledging the disappointment felt by viewers. The post emphasized Ariana's role as a valuable friend and supporter of the restaurant, while also highlighting the impact the business has on the livelihoods of several individuals beyond Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz. Schwartz later commented on the complexity of the situation and expressed sadness over the negative impact on their livelihood, but remained optimistic that things would improve.
Madix achieved success in her professional life through her sandwich shop with Katie Maloney, which gained a surge of interest. The duo disclosed during the season 10 Vanderpump Rules reunion, which aired in May 2023, that they made $200,000 from merchandise sales, as fans wanted to show their support for the Fancy AF Cocktails co-author following Sandoval and Leviss' affair. In a June 2023 interview with Glamour, Madix revealed that she aims to earn enough money to financially support her family members, including her mother and brother, without any worry. She expressed her determination to work as much as possible to achieve this goal.
Madix and Maloney launched a new item on their store following the airing of part 3 of the reunion in the same month. The “F—k Me in This T-Shirt” top was inspired by a comment made by Sandoval about his sex life with Madix in front of the cast while they discussed his affair.

A Guide to Every Restaurant Featured on 'Vanderpump Rules': From SUR to Something About Her
As drama on Vanderpump Rules has come and gone, so have the restaurants.
Lisa Vanderpump's businesses have been the backdrop for some of the most dramatic moments on the hit Bravo series since its debut in 2013. Initially, viewers were introduced to the cast as they navigated the highs and lows of working at Vanderpump's Los Angeles establishments, with SUR being the main focus. As the show progressed, the TV personalities moved up the ranks from bartenders and waitresses to launch their own ventures, seeking guidance from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum. Despite the evolution of the cast, Vanderpump's eateries remained a constant presence in the show's storylines.
The cast's profits have been adversely affected by drama in their personal lives. A prime example of this is when news surfaced in March 2023 that Tom Sandoval had cheated on his long-time girlfriend, Ariana Madix, with their co-star Raquel Leviss, resulting in their breakup. The scandal also had a detrimental impact on Sandoval's career.
As a consequence of this controversy, fans began to turn on Schwartz & Sandy's, the business owned by Sandoval's best friend and business partner, Tom Schwartz, who hails from Missouri. The duo also launched TomTom with the assistance of Vanderpump.
Following recent events, we want to express our gratitude for the overwhelming support we've received. We also acknowledge the anger and frustration that has been directed towards our establishments. We want to emphasize that while Tom Sandoval's actions are not reflective of our values, our team has worked tirelessly to bring our vision to life. We understand the disappointment surrounding the situation, especially given Ariana's past support for our business. However, we implore our patrons to consider the impact their negative reviews may have on the livelihoods of our staff. We are a team of dedicated individuals who have poured our hearts and resources into this venture, and we hope that our customers will continue to support us through this difficult time. It's important to remember that there are many people involved in making this restaurant a success, beyond just Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz.
Schwartz later spoke out about the impact his friend's scandal had on their business, acknowledging the situation was complicated. Despite the negative impact, he remained optimistic and hoped cooler heads would prevail. As for Madix, she found success with her sandwich shop, which saw a surge in interest and merchandise sales following the scandal. During the season 10 Vanderpump Rules reunion, she and Katie Maloney revealed that they made an impressive $200,000 from the shop's merch, thanks to fans wanting to support Madix in the aftermath of Sandoval and Leviss' affair.
Madix stated in a June 2023 interview with Glamour that her family has no generational wealth, expressing her desire to earn enough money to support her mother, brother, and other family members who may need it. She aims to work tirelessly to ensure she never has to worry about financial stability. During the same month, the airing of part 3 of the reunion led to the release of a new product on Madix and Maloney's store - the "F—k Me in This T-Shirt" top, inspired by a controversial comment made by Sandoval about his sex life with Madix in front of the cast.

The unexpected feud involving the Parisian-inspired restaurant began when several members of the Vanderpump Rules cast visited Las Vegas in season 10.
