Is Young Sheldon Season 7 Delayed
: In the past, Armitage utilized his social media platform to express his solidarity with fellow actors. However, during the initiation of the WGA strike, additional Young Sheldon cast members, namely Raegan Revord, Zoe Perry, and Lance Barber, also demonstrated their support by participating in the picket line.Shortly after the WGA initiated their strike in May, CBS decided to stick to their regular fall 2023 programming schedule. As a result, viewers anticipated the return of Young Sheldon and other scripted projects after the summer break. This decision gave hope to many, as CBS expressed optimism that the issue would be resolved in time for The Big Bang Theory prequel's production. Regrettably, the situation has now changed, as both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are expected to persist indefinitely.
Young Sheldon season 7 is most likely facing a delay at this point. Usually, the show returns with new episodes in mid to late September, but the preparations start much earlier. Aside from filming episodes in advance, the writers also need to regroup and plan the future of the Cooper family. This poses a challenge for the upcoming year of this family comedy because there are indications that season 7 may be its last. Consequently, there are several unresolved storylines that need to be addressed before it concludes.
Currently, there is no resolution in sight for the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, making it uncertain when the situation will be resolved. Apart from the delay faced by Young Sheldon, there is a more significant issue impacting the industry. The writers and actors are advocating for fair wages, especially in terms of residuals from streaming. Armitage, Shawn, and most of the cast of the prequel are clearly aware of and support this cause.
