Highlights
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are set to receive an exciting DLC titled The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. This highly anticipated expansion will not only unveil new captivating locations, but also enrich the Pokedex with a staggering addition of over 230 Pokemon from past generations.
The DLC has already unveiled 173 Pokemon, consisting of beloved classics such as Bulbasaur and Charizard, alongside fresh additions like Ogerpon and Terapagos.
In the Scarlet and Violet expansions, cherished Pokemon like Applin and Duraludon will receive exciting evolutions, while the Galar teapot Pokemon will introduce a spectral tea caddy relative called Poltchageist.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are set to receive a major boost with the upcoming launch of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. This expansion is divided into two parts, offering players the opportunity to venture beyond Paldea's borders and explore never-before-seen regions, namely Kitakami and Blueberry Academy. Kitakami draws inspiration from Japanese folklore and island life, while Blueberry Academy specializes in the art of Pokemon battles.
But it's not just the new areas that make the DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so exciting. Similar to the expansion pass for Pokemon Sword and Shield that preceded The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, the DLC aims to greatly expand Generation 9's Pokedex. With just a month to go before part one of the expansion is released, several new Pokemon have already been unveiled.

In addition to the well-known returning Pokemon, fans may come across unfamiliar names on this list. The upcoming release of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero introduces ten new creatures, including Ogerpon and Terapagos, known as the "box legendaries" in the DLC package. The Loyal Three trio, consisting of Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti, as well as the new Paradox Pokemon Iron Crown and Raging Bolt, complete the lineup of exciting additions.
The Galar region introduces new evolutions for certain creatures in the Scarlet and Violet expansions. Applin, a beloved fan-favorite, now has a third evolutionary option known as Dipplin. This candy apple-like creature is a perfect fit for the Japanese festival theme of Kitakami. Additionally, Duraludon evolves into an even more impressive form called Archaludon in The Indigo Disk. Furthermore, Galar's teapot Pokemon now has a ghostly relative known as Poltchageist, a haunted tea caddy that provides support to its allies in battles.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are currently available on Nintendo Switch. The first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, titled the Teal Mask, will be released on September 13.
