Sony has officially announced the release date and pricing details for its PlayStation 5 Access Controller. This unique and customizable design aims to greatly assist gamers with disabilities. In the near future, PlayStation 5 users will have the opportunity to pre-order this controller, which is specifically tailored to enhance accessibility in gaming.

Sony will officially release the PlayStation 5 Access Controller on December 6th after five years of development. The controller will have a suggested retail price of $89.99 USD, but actual prices may vary depending on the retailer. Customers who do not want to miss out on the launch can pre-order the PS5 Access Controller starting from Friday, July 21st.

The new PlayStation 5 controller includes a joystick and a circular keypad, allowing users to customize their button configurations extensively. Each kit contains nineteen button caps of various shapes and sizes, as well as 23 removable tags that players can use to label the inputs. Users can even assign multiple functions to a single button if desired, and the PS5 Access Controller has the capacity to store up to 30 different control profiles. Additionally, players can personalize the joystick by adjusting its position and choosing from three different stick caps.

The PS5 Access Controller features four 3.5mm AUX ports, allowing users to customize it with separate third-party sticks and accessories. It is even compatible with other PlayStation 5 controllers. Specifically, users can connect up to two PS5 Access Controllers and one PS5 DualSense wireless controller into a single system. The Access Controller is also designed to be used on either a flat surface or a standard AMPS patterned mount. Furthermore, its circular shape enables users to operate it in any 360° orientation.

Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 Access Controller will be available starting at 10 am local time on July 21st in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Portugal. Customers can pre-order directly from direct.playstation.com or select retailers. For customers in other regions, pre-order details will be announced by Sony on the same day.
