New details about the upcoming Dragon Ball Daima anime have been leaked, shedding light on what fans can anticipate in the first episode. The long-awaited return of Dragon Ball in anime format will not continue with Dragon Ball Super, as fans had hoped. Instead, new information has surfaced prior to its anticipated release in Fall 2024.
Toei revealed the first trailer for Dragon Ball Daima at New York Comic Con, announcing the return of kid Goku and drawing immediate comparisons to GT. Unlike GT, series creator Akira Toriyama has a significant role in the new anime, which has been in production for over four years. Recent updates about Daima are emerging, with episode one close to being finished.

Dragon Ball Daima leaks reveal new story details and more
The Dragon Ball Daima information is sourced from DBZ YouTuber Geekdom101, who has a track record of accurately revealing details about the anime prior to its official announcement. According to Geekdom, the reveal trailer showcases a significant portion of Daima's first episode and there will be a noticeable animation shift early on in the episode.
The episode will reportedly start with a vintage Dragon Ball Z-style art, reminiscent of the classic 90s appearance that fans love, and then transition to a more modern look like Dragon Ball Super Broly. According to Geekdom, two unnamed villains will put a curse on Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and the rest of the heroes, turning them back into their child forms. Despite attempting to use the Dragon Balls to break the curse, they are unable to return to their adult bodies because the curse originates from the demon realm.
Goku and the Supreme Kai embark on the first arc of Daima, exploring new locations, encountering new characters, and seeking a way to lift the curse. Additionally, Daima will include depictions of blood, a departure from DBS, likely due to the series being a streaming anime rather than airing on television.
Geekdom also pointed out that Toriyama is reviewing and making edits to the scripts for the series to ensure that the show aligns more closely with his original vision, rather than being affected by production problems that affected Super.
Stay tuned to Dexerto for the latest updates on Dragon Ball as we expect to learn more about Daima in the coming weeks and months.
