Exclusive Starfield Image Reveals Epic New Weapon

Exclusive Starfield screenshots surface online, revealing an intriguing glimpse of a recognizable weapon and an enticing loading screen from Bethesda's highly anticipated sci-fi RPG

Leaked Starfield screenshots have unveiled a loading screen and confirmed the presence of an AK-inspired weapon in the upcoming RPG. These images emerged shortly after the file size for Starfield was disclosed.

One of the highlights of the recent Starfield Direct event was the announcement that Bethesda's next AAA game will heavily emphasize gunplay. Alongside stunningly intricate shooting and reloading animations, the showcase on June 11 showcased an extensive array of weapons that players can utilize in the upcoming RPG, including energy blasters, laser rifles, melee armaments, and classic ballistic firearms.

The extensive gameplay footage showcased at the event has already confirmed the inclusion of a diverse range of weapons, one of which appears to be inspired by the Avtomat Kalashnikova (AK) family of automatic rifles. A newly leaked screenshot from Starfield provides another glimpse of this weapon, prompting comparisons to the AK-47 and indicating a closer resemblance to a member of the AK-100 series. The image originated from the Discord server of renowned leaker Idle Sloth, accompanied by a loading screen depicting a brief description of the game's Targeting skill. According to the loading screen, this skill enhances the accuracy and range of any hip-fired weapon.

During Starfield's gameplay reveal in mid-2022, the Targeting skill was among the highlighted features, aligning with the information presented in this recently leaked description. Furthermore, the image raises an interesting possibility regarding the loading screen's format. Despite being heavily compressed, its resolution of 936 x 341 suggests that Starfield may support ultrawide monitors upon release. It is worth noting that while mods can enable ultrawide monitor support for Bethesda's 3D RPGs, none of the studio's previous titles have offered this functionality by default.

The gameplay screenshot confirms that Starfield will feature an item rarity system and its armor pieces will have distinct protection stats for thermal, airborne, corrosive, and radiation damage. Additionally, certain equipment will enhance the player's physical, energy, and electromagnetic damage. Although the number of AK-inspired weapons in the game's initial release remains unknown, the fandom can expect robust modding support, allowing for a vast array of weapons to be added to the upcoming RPG. Bethesda has reaffirmed their commitment to this plan, with a top executive stating that Starfield will be a paradise for modders.

Starfield launches September 6 on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
