The time-travel aspect of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is evident in various aspects, including the storyline and the presence of Paradox Pokemon in Paldea. This theme may even extend to the DLC, potentially connecting the games to Pokemon Legends: Unova, featuring a Dark-type creature.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus became a sensation in recent years thanks to its enjoyable and distinct gameplay, resembling a Souls-like game more than a typical Pokemon title. Its success fueled speculation about a new game in the series that would transport players to Unova's past. The DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet could serve as a bridge between these two games in multiple ways, particularly with new leaks surfacing.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's DLC Could Add a New Mightyena Form

The starters and characters in Pokemon Legends Unova are expected to have significant differences compared to Pokemon Black and White. However, there are familiar faces introduced in Legends: Arceus, representing the ancestors. If Pokemon Legends Unova follows the theme of past versus future like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it could provide more depth to the story from the original Gen 5 games by including the Original Dragon and exploring how Professor Sada and Turo's time machine functions.

Recently, a reliable leaker named Riddler Khu hinted at the possibility of a new cross-gen evolution, a Paradox form, or a different type of form for a Dark-type Pokemon. Khu has a strong reputation, and their riddles are expected to become clearer as players gather additional information. For now, Khu shared two images, one combining The Legend of Zelda's Blood Moon with the Pokemon Black and White anime, accompanied by the caption "saado." They also presented a collage featuring Umbreon, Mightyena, Weavile, and Midnight Lycanroc.

Lycanroc stands out due to its pure Rock-type, even in its Midnight Form. Yet, the true anomaly is Mightyena for several reasons. Firstly, all three Pokémon, excluding Mightyena, are already included in the Paldea region's Pokédex in the games Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Additionally, Mightyena's pre-evolution, Poochyena, was observed battling against Kieran in The Teal Mask DLC, a significant character from the expansion. Hence, it is highly likely that Mightyena will receive either a cross-generational evolution, a regional variant, or even a Paradox form in the initial DLC of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Regarding The Legend of Zelda's Blood Moon, it could potentially be associated with a werewolf-like transformation for Pokémon, which aligns thematically. What's more intriguing is the use of the term "saado" by the leaker, which suggests a past form. In this case, it could be an entirely new Paradox form for Mightyena or a form introduced in the extensively rumored Pokémon Legends Unova game. This is similar to the Pokémon Ursaluna, Kleavor, and others becoming available in Generation 9 through Pokémon Home. Regardless, this presents an excellent opportunity for Game Freak to establish a connection between its mainline series and the upcoming chapter in the Pokémon Legends: Arceus spin-offs.
