The Big Picture
To generate excitement before its Netflix release on November 21, the highly anticipated animated film Leo will be showcased for a limited time in select theaters across the U.S. This exclusive screening is a golden opportunity for audiences to experience the movie firsthand, courtesy of Netflix.
To book free tickets for the screening of Leo, a movie penned by Adam Sandler and his team, families can visit the Leo Sneak Peek website and use the Atom Tickets app to check showtimes. Leo narrates the tale of a weary 74-year-old lizard who embarks on a journey beyond his terrarium, embracing the outside world before it's too late.
Any movie enthusiast will agree that the ultimate cinema experience comes from watching movies on the silver screen. However, high ticket prices often discourage people from visiting theaters. To address this issue, Netflix is offering a unique opportunity for you and your family to enjoy an exclusive early screening of the film "Leo" at your local movie theater – completely free of charge. This special event will take place only on the weekend, and Netflix has handpicked 150 locations across the United States to showcase "Leo" on November 11 and 12, a full ten days before its official release on the streaming platform.
Geared towards families, this event allows you to reserve up to five complimentary tickets through the Leo Sneak Peek website. To find the nearest participating theater and showtimes, you can conveniently use Atom Tickets, which can be downloaded from either the Google Play or Apple App Store. By hosting this event, Netflix aims to generate excitement and anticipation for "Leo," which already has the potential to become a major hit on their platform, especially given the devoted fanbase of its star, Adam Sandler, who consistently garners attention with the release of each new film.
Leo will also feature the voice acting of several familiar faces from Sandler films, including Rob Schneider (Daddy Daughter Trip) and John Turturro (Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie). Additionally, Sadie Sandler and Sunny Sandler, the actor’s children, who had previously made brief appearances in films like The Wrong Missy and Jack and Jill, gained recognition after their co-starring roles in this year's You’re So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.
'Leo' Will Feature An Unconventional Protagonist For Kids' Movies
Leo captivates both children and their parents with his endearing story. At 74 years old, this jaded lizard has spent his life as a beloved class pet, accompanied by his terrarium-mate turtle (voiced by Bill Burr). However, upon discovering his limited time left, Leo devises a bucket list and breaks free from his terrarium. His ultimate goal is to experience the allure of the outside world, craving to witness its beauty and sensations firsthand.
Sandler collaborated with Robert Smigel and Paul Sado to co-write the script. The animation is co-directed by Smigel, along with Robert Marianetti and David Wachtenheim. These two have previous experience in working on animated movies and TV shows like Despicable Me, Stroker & Hoop, and Sherlock Gnomes.
If you're not interested in watching Leo ten days before its release, you can also add Leo to your watchlist on Netflix. You'll receive a notification when the movie premieres on November 21.
