Highlights

With the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, Stranger Things writers are concerned that their vision for season 5 may not come to fruition.

@strangerwriters' latest teaser video suggests a storyline for season 5 that involves revisiting the McCorkle Farm. This return could potentially reintroduce the Mind Flayer and resolve unresolved plot points, ultimately giving rise to familiar themes and a possible transformation of Will Byers into a villain.

The Stranger Things writers have been teasing season 5 on social media despite the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, and a recent post revealed a spoiler for the upcoming season.

Stranger Things season 5 is highly anticipated as it is seen as the perfect time to conclude the series, as suggested by David Harbour. The characters from Hawkins will finally finish their harrowing journey and bid farewell. However, the excitement for Stranger Things has intensified due to the ongoing strikes. While the WGA strike has been resolved, the writers are growing increasingly worried that their creative vision may not be realized if the actors continue to protest.

@strangerwriters, a group of writers on Twitter, have been creating videos that imagine what season 5 of Stranger Things could be like if the AMPTP and SAG don't reach an agreement. In one of their recent videos, there is an unexpected plot point for the upcoming season. The video features Dustin, Nancy, and Jonathan screaming in a car, but if you look closely, you can see that the scene takes place at the McCorkle Farm, a location briefly featured in season 2. This farm was where Eugene McCorkle, a struggling farmer, dealt with a contaminated pumpkin patch, which turned out to be connected to the Mind Flayer from the Upside Down. Hopper discovered a tunnel system filled with slimy vines, showing that Hawkins was deeply affected by the Mind Flayer's influence.

The video's reveal doesn't confirm McCorkle's return, but it strongly suggests that all loose ends will be tied up in the final season. If the Hawkins crew goes back to the farm, we might encounter the Mind Flayer again or see recurring themes from the past seasons. A popular fan theory suggests that Will Byers will transform into the ultimate villain in the final season. Since being trapped in the Upside Down in season 1, he has faced nonstop adversity. In season 2, the Stranger Things writers revealed that Will came close to killing someone while in the alternate dimension. Will's past traumas still haunt him, and his suffering may not be over.

All four seasons of Stranger Things are available for streaming on Netflix.
