A leaked regional newsletter revealed that the upcoming Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will showcase Mewtwo, a highly anticipated addition. This leak comes shortly after the Rillaboom Tera Raid event, which recently launched in the game. These new mainline Pokemon RPGs continue to expand on the Max Raid Battles introduced in Sword and Shield by introducing Tera Raids. Similar to the previous games, players can form a team of four creatures to battle against a massive pocket monster in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Tera Raids. Game Freak has been consistently hosting these high-reward, seven-star Tera Raids on a monthly basis since their mainline Pokemon games were released in late 2022.

According to a recent Thai-Japanese Nintendo newsletter that appeared online on August 7, the upcoming Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may include Mewtwo. A screenshot of the newsletter's header clearly shows Mewtwo in its terastallized form, which is how the creature is expected to appear in the Tera Raid.

Typically, these seven-star raids span two four-day periods, with at least a week in between. Although players can only capture one of the featured Pokemon during each raid, Game Freak has consistently run these events in pairs to give players more chances to obtain these powerful creatures. Previous seven-star Tera Raids have featured legendary or pseudo-legendary Pokemon, and Mewtwo would continue that trend as one of the most iconic legendary creatures in the Pokemon franchise.

The authenticity of this leak is expected to be confirmed during the upcoming Pokemon Presents event, organized by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company on Tuesday, August 8. As per tradition, fans can anticipate over thirty minutes of Pokemon-related updates, ranging from Scarlet and Violet to the Pokemon TCG, merchandise, as well as mobile apps like Pokemon Sleep and Pokemon GO.

For now, those eager to capture Mewtwo but have yet to complete the main quests of Scarlet and Violet should prioritize finishing them. Specifically, the seven-star events will only become accessible once players have completed the games' story, all gym leader rematches, and a few five-star Tera Raid battles.
