House of the Dragon continues filming amid strikes, as most of the actors are from the U.K. and part of a different union called Equity.

In House of the Dragon season 2, The Dance of the Dragons, a civil war between Rhaenyra and Alicent vying for the throne, will take center stage. Recent set photos hint at the possibility of The Wall, a prominent Game of Thrones location, playing a crucial part in the upcoming season.

House of the Dragon is defying the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes as it continues to film. Recent set photos reveal that the upcoming season will include a renowned set piece from Game of Thrones.

The reason behind House of the Dragon's uninterrupted filming lies in the fact that most of the show's actors are from the U.K. and belong to a separate union called Equity. This union's regulations prevent them from participating in the strikes as an act of solidarity. At the conclusion of season 1, the stage was set for the fierce conflict known as The Dance of the Dragons, which will take center stage in season 2. Rhaenyra Targaryen (portrayed by Emma D'Arcy) and her rival Alicent (played by Olivia Cooke) will lead the opposing sides, the Blacks and the Greens, in a battle for the throne. Fans familiar with the series' lore can expect a high toll of bloodshed from the Targaryen family tree. Furthermore, recent photos suggest that the new season will also bring back a beloved location, potentially triggering a wave of nostalgia among devoted viewers.

Recently shared by @jonaryastark on Twitter, new House of the Dragon images reveal a structure resembling The Wall of the ancient order known as The Night's Watch. Captured from an aerial perspective, the photograph showcases a lengthy, icy formation reminiscent of glaciers. The comparison made by the poster between the initial image and The Wall from Game of Thrones suggests that certain Targaryens may explore beyond their residence in Dragonstone to experience a colder climate.

In the series Game of Thrones, The Wall served as a tangible setting where Kit Harington's character, Jon Snow, embarked on a journey to join The Night's Watch. Through a series of unexpected events, Jon eventually ascended to the rank of Lord Commander, faced assassination, and later returned from the dead. The Wall held significant importance to Jon as it marked the initial battleground against the looming threat of the undead. Considering the allusion to the Song of Ice and Fire in House of the Dragon's first season, it is possible that The Wall will play a more substantial role than anticipated by fans.

King Viserys (Paddy Considine) chose Rhaenyra as his successor because he believed she would honor his wishes. Although not a Dreamer like some previous Targaryens, Viserys had a dream that he believed to be a prophecy called The Song of Ice and Fire. He shared this dream with Rhaenyra, hoping it would inspire her to unite The Seven Kingdoms against the impending cold.

In House of the Dragon season 2, the consequences of this prophecy may become more evident. Viewers were surprised by Daemon's (Matt Smith) negative reaction to Rhaenyra mentioning the prophecy. This event could have significant repercussions in the future. While some viewers may find it difficult to remain engaged after being disappointed by The Long Night in the final season of Game of Thrones, the return to Jon's old stomping grounds is expected to evoke strong emotions.

House of the Dragon season 1 is currently streaming on Max.
