Lori Loughlin is not allowing her past to hinder her present. In a recent interview with First for Women Magazine, published on Friday, April 26, the 59-year-old former Full House star shared how focusing on a healthy lifestyle and staying positive has been instrumental in her journey to where she is today.

Every day, we face various challenges. Like the lyrics of a song, I believe in getting back up when life knocks me down. Life is not always easy, we all make mistakes, but the key is to keep going.

Loughlin showed her sense of humor by making a guest appearance on an episode of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm's last season. The episode parodied her involvement in the 2019 college admissions scandal.

The actress from When Calls the Heart shared that she has been focusing on personal growth in recent years. A key part of her journey towards happiness has been understanding the importance of asking for forgiveness. This includes forgiving both herself and others.

She mentioned, "I don't believe in holding onto grudges. Life is full of challenges and we all have our own struggles. It's important to remember that nobody is perfect and we may not know the full story of someone's actions." She added, "We have all been in situations where we needed to seek forgiveness. I've realized that in order to ask for forgiveness, you must first be able to forgive others, as well as yourself. It's crucial for your own well-being to let go of negativity and regrets. Life is too short to hold onto grudges."

Loughlin became famous in the 1980s for her roles in The Edge of Night and Full House. She married Mossimo Giannulli in 1997, and the couple has two daughters, Isabella, 25, and Olivia, 24.

Despite her busy life as a wife and mother, Loughlin understands the importance of taking time for herself. She enjoys having some "me time," which involves starting her day in peace and quiet and playing golf.

"I may not be the best at it, but I find joy in playing the game. It's a great way to unwind, recharge, and take a break from constantly checking your phone," she shared about the sport.

Loughlin also mentioned, "I find pleasure in spending time alone at home. I like waking up early in the morning, sipping my coffee, taking some time to meditate, catching up on the news, and staying updated on what's happening in the world. Now that the kids are grown and my husband leaves for work early, I have this time to myself. Life can get hectic, so it's refreshing to slow down and simply enjoy the peace and quiet."

Loughlin shared that one thing that always makes her smile is watching funny videos of dogs and cats. She finds animals to be a great source of joy and entertainment.

Loughlin, a Summerland alum, values her alone time but also finds joy in helping others. She shared with the outlet that lending a hand to those in need contributes significantly to her own happiness.

According to Loughlin, volunteering is not only a way to assist others but also a way to nourish one's own spirit. She expressed her enthusiasm for Project Angel Food, a cause she actively supports. Initially offering her assistance during some free time, Loughlin found the experience fulfilling and continued to dedicate her time. Her tasks include delivering meals and providing companionship to individuals in need, which she finds incredibly rewarding.

Over the last few years, the Hallmark actress has faced many challenges, but she attributes her ability to keep going to her strong faith.

She believes that there is a higher power that guides and supports us during difficult times. In today's world, there is a lot of sadness and worry, and she thinks that this may be due to a lack of belief in something greater than ourselves. For her, having faith makes life easier to navigate. She also feels that she has guardian angels watching over her, which could be her father, grandfather, or grandmother. She truly believes that she is never alone.
