Former Disney actor Miley Cyrus candidly discusses the grueling work schedules she endured as a 12-year-old while filming Hannah Montana. Cyrus has long been known for her early entry into the entertainment industry. Once landing the role on the popular Disney Channel show during its peak, she quickly rose to become one of the most prominent child stars of the early 2000s. Not only did she achieve teen idol status, but she also went on to enjoy a flourishing music career as an adult. Now, she is shedding light on the immense effort she put into her work during those formative years on Disney Channel. The video is part of her TikTok series titled "Used to Be Young". Inspired by her single of the same name, the series focuses on her reminiscing about her childhood. This particular video, which is Part 12 of the series, showcases her reading a jam-packed schedule from 2007. The schedule involved constant preparations, interviews, and travels while she was filming for Hannah Montana. Read her statement below:

Can you believe it? I must have been around 12 or 13 years old. On Friday, January 5, the day started bright and early at 5:30 a.m. with hair and makeup in my hotel. We were picked up at 7 a.m., and by 7:15, I was already on the news. The day continued with one live interview after another at 7:45, 8:15, and 8:45. From 9:30 to 11 a.m., I had a meeting with editors before heading back to the hotel. It was quite amusing when I found out that my interview was with fifth-grade students. Following that, my dad and I had a lunch interview from 1 to 2:30. At 2:40, we had to attend a Life magazine photoshoot, and from 3 to 5, there was an interview and photoshoot dedicated to the Father's Day issue. Later at 6 p.m., I had an online interview specifically for kids, and right after that, at 6:15, another interview awaited me. The next day, the busy routine continued, starting at 7 a.m. and lasting until 7:30 p.m. when I had to fly back home, most likely for another episode of Hannah Montana. On Saturday, I was already back at work, and Monday mornings meant returning to work again. It's safe to say that I am many things, but lazy is definitely not one of them. Considering everything she has been through, I strongly believe this girl deserves an endless summer vacation.

Exclusive: Inside the Exhausting World of Hannah Montana – Miley Cyrus Discloses Shocking 12+ Hour Work Regimen

Cyrus' "Used to Be Young" series offers viewers a fresh perspective on her Disney days and her emotions towards her alter ego, Hannah Montana. Since parting ways with Disney, Cyrus has started to openly discuss her reasons for leaving. Although Hannah Montana had catapulted her to fame, she struggled with the demanding expectations that Disney placed on her public image. In the introduction of her series, she expressed her desire to reveal the true identity of the young Cyrus beyond the confines of Montana.

The majority of her videos delve into the challenges she faced in differentiating herself from the character of Hannah Montana that she portrayed on television. Her grueling schedule left her with minimal personal time and a lack of work-life balance. Additionally, her foray into the music industry was intertwined with her Hannah Montana persona, most notably through her debut album, "Meet Miley Cyrus," which was a double disk featuring both Miley and Hannah. Cyrus viewed this as a reflection that the fictional pop star held more value than her true self.

Her label declined to produce a music video for her song "See You Again," in which she fully embraces her Miley persona, citing concerns that it would not be well-received. Furthermore, she acknowledges the controversy surrounding her 2008 Vanity Fair photoshoot, where she unintentionally disappointed her fans by deviating from their expectations of a "bubblegum popstar." Throughout her series, Cyrus depicts a scenario in which both the studio and her fans prefer her to be a fictional character rather than embracing her true self. Thankfully, the series also showcases Cyrus' triumph in establishing her own identity and successful career beyond the confines of Hannah Montana.
