The developers of Payday 3 have recently announced a delay in the release of the expected patch, which was originally scheduled for this time. Payday 3 had a rough start, receiving Mostly Negative reviews on Steam and facing complaints from gamers across all platforms. However, the development team is diligently working to address these issues and improve the game.

Immediately after its release, Payday 3 faced significant challenges, rendering it virtually unplayable. The overwhelming influx of over 200,000 players during the initial weekend caused severe strain on the online infrastructure. Consequently, most players were unable to log in or connect with others for matchmaking purposes. Although the matchmaking problems have since been resolved, these incidents have left a stain on Payday 3's reputation.

The upcoming Payday 3 update has been officially delayed. Starbreeze has decided to postpone the patch for a few days in order to enhance its stability and prevent any further issues with the heist-based game. Additionally, the patch requires some changes that necessitate console certification, which is a time-consuming process. The developers have now confirmed that the update is expected to be released in the middle of October. Unfortunately, this also means that the bonus content for PS5, which was supposed to be included in the update, will also be delayed.

Following the game's release, Starbreeze notified players that the cosmetic bonus DLCs for the PS5 version were not functioning as intended and could not be redeemed. These included various gold and silver versions of items, as well as other cosmetic items. Thankfully, these currently inaccessible items do not have any impact on gameplay.

Payday 3 initially had significant issues upon its release, but improvements have been steadily made over time. In response to player feedback, Starbreeze has announced plans to reduce the game's reliance on online services, addressing one of the main concerns raised by gamers. Additionally, a roadmap for Payday 3's future has been revealed, outlining the release of four major DLCs titled Syntax Error, Boys in Blue, The Land of the Free, and Fear and Greed. These DLCs will be released approximately every three months, starting in Winter 2023. In addition to the DLCs, seasonal events are also expected to provide new content for players.

Payday 3 is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
