Blizzard is holding a Campfire Chat for Diablo 4, where developers aim to tackle player concerns arising from the Season 1 patch Engage in an interactive discussion to address the latest update and receive insights directly from the dev team

Blizzard is hosting a Diablo 4 Campfire Chat on Friday to address player concerns about the Season 1 Patch. The community is unhappy with the changes made in yesterday's Diablo 4 update, claiming that almost everything in the game has been nerfed.

Diablo 4 Season of the Malignant is the first season since the game's launch on June 5. In the past month, players have been experimenting with game-breaking builds on different characters, aiming to reach level 100. The community expected certain character builds to be nerfed due to their immense power. For example, a Necromancer in Diablo 4 managed to defeat Uber Lilith, the game's strongest boss, in a single hit. However, when the actual changes were revealed, the community expressed disappointment with the majority of them. As a result, players are criticizing Blizzard on various social media platforms.

Blizzard's global community development director Adam Fletcher tweeted that, in response to player concerns, the developer will be hosting a Campfire Chat on July 21 to discuss the matter further. Fletcher also acknowledged that feedback from players regarding Diablo 4 patch 1.1.0a has been heard, and more details about the developer talk will be provided tomorrow.

The announcement of a major developer talk just 24 hours after the release of a significant update indicates the level of player outrage. Fans believe that there were unnecessary changes made to Diablo 4, including the addition of secret level requirements for progressing World Tiers, which has made leveling up more difficult due to reduced XP gains from monsters. Furthermore, the community feels that the decision to nerf all character classes was unwarranted, as not all of them required balancing.

Contrarily, monsters have received a significant buff in Diablo 4. Their health now scales by 100% per extra player, an increase from the previous 85%. Additionally, The Butcher's Cleaver attack is being enhanced, with players now being slowed between 61-75%. However, player frustration stems from the extremely low drop rate of Aberrant Cinders and the increased cost of Mystery Chests, rising from 175 to 250. Blizzard has acknowledged the low-drop rate as a bug and has plans to rectify it soon. With the current negative player sentiment, Friday's Campfire Chat is expected to play a crucial role in changing players' attitudes toward the game. Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
