Bruce's loved ones are facing a challenging time as they rally around the 68-year-old Die Hard star. In March 2022, the family announced that he had been battling aphasia, a language disorder, and in February it was revealed that his condition had progressed to FTD. The typical life expectancy for those with FTD is only six to eight years, but some sources suggest it could be as low as two years. Bruce's daughters and young granddaughters have been providing round-the-clock support, with the family growing even closer as they cherish every moment with him. Rumer brings her 8-month-old daughter Louetta to spend time with Bruce, as she wants him to be actively involved in her daughter's life and to continue their special bond.
On Father’s Day, she shared a photo on Instagram of Bruce cradling her baby girl, with a caption that read, “Papa I’m so fortunate to have you and so is Lou.” Another source also commented, “Rumer and her sisters adore their dad. They are acutely aware that every day could be his last.”
