Exclusive: Bachelor in Paradise's Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk Unveil the Stunning Name Choice for Baby No 2

Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk’s second baby threw them for a loop when he arrived — and made them second guess his moniker.

On Tuesday, July 25, the Bachelor Nation couple revealed the name of their newborn via social media. Gates took to Instagram to announce that their second son, Max Asa Gottschalk, was born on her 32nd birthday, July 23, 2023. Max weighed 8 pounds and 1 ounce, measuring 20 inches long, and was born at 8:10 am. Alongside a collection of photos and videos of the newborn, Gates expressed her hopes for her sons to share an unbreakable bond and to contribute their individual God-given talents to the world. She further mentioned that although not pictured, their other son Boaz had the opportunity to give his greetings to the new addition.

The revelation occurred shortly after the couple celebrated the arrival of their newborn through a C-section on Sunday, July 23. Prior to her discharge from the hospital on Tuesday, July 25, Gates, 32, dropped a hint about the chosen name for her baby on her Instagram Story.

"On Monday, July 24, Adam and I were still in deliberation over names," she admitted. She went on to explain, "We were completely set on a specific name, but after seeing the baby, it just didn't seem to suit!"

Gates, who also has an 18-month-old son named Gates Zev with Gottschalk, 32, informed her followers that they were "having a late-night discussion about a name we believe is more suitable."

The former Bachelor contestant reiterated, “It’s hard when you have the name set on something particular & it just doesn’t fit the baby!”

The couple, who met and fell in love on the fourth season of Bachelor in Paradise in 2017, were in agreement, according to Gates. They didn't have a debate about the names, just a discussion about exploring all the options, she playfully hinted.

Gottschalk and Gates, who got married in April 2021, revealed in January that their second child was on the horizon. "Baby #2 is due in July! Any advice for having two children under 2? Please pray for us, especially Adam," the couple wrote on Instagram.

The family of three decided to escape to Mexico for a vacation the next month to celebrate the exciting news. In June, Gates and Gottschalk embarked on a babymoon to Italy, leaving their eldest child at home.

Gates shared their experience on Instagram, giving it a perfect rating of 10/10. Alongside a collection of photos from their romantic journey, she expressed her gratitude for the memories they had created together in Rome, Florence, and ending at Lake Como. Time seemed to be passing by quickly, with Gates sometimes forgetting she was even pregnant. Adam's presence made the trip even more special to her.

Their second baby was born in Texas on Sunday, coinciding with Gates' 32nd birthday celebration at the hospital.

"Finished watching my first C-section. Surprisingly, it wasn't as terrible as I had expected," Gottschalk posted on his Instagram Story along with a picture of the baby's footprints. "Both the mother and baby are doing exceptionally well."
