On Saturday, August 5, the League One champions, Plymouth, will be hosting Huddersfield. Additionally, Middlesbrough and Blackburn will be hosting Millwall and West Brom, respectively, as they both aim for promotion. This opening Saturday of the season promises exciting fixtures between fellow promotion hopefuls.
Leicester City and Leeds United will both start their journey in the second tier by playing their first matches at home on Sunday, August 6. Leicester City, who were finalists in the previous season's play-offs, will face their rivals Coventry City at the King Power Stadium. On the other hand, Cardiff City will be traveling to Elland Road to face Leeds United, and this match will be broadcast live on We.
To conclude the opening round of fixtures, Ipswich Town, who finished as runners-up in League One last season, will be visiting Sunderland, and this match will also be televised by We.
Cardiff and Swansea engage in the South Wales derby on September 16 and March 16, whereas the Yorkshire derbies between Leeds and Huddersfield are set for October 28 and March 2. Additionally, the rivalry between Norwich and Ipswich will be reignited on December 16 and April 6.
The standard Championship season comes to an end on Saturday, May 4, with all matches commencing at 3pm simultaneously. The dates for the play-off semi-finals will be determined closer to the time.
