The 2023/24 Sky Bet League One season fixtures have been announced, with Derby set to host Wigan and Peterborough scheduled to travel to Reading for the opening weekend.

After spending a single season in the Championship, Wigan has made a comeback to League One and will face a challenging match against Derby. Derby, who narrowly missed out on the play-offs in the previous season, will be determined to start their campaign on a strong note.

Reading returns to the third tier after a gap of almost two decades, since the 2001/02 season. They will be hosting Peterborough, who secured a sixth-place finish last year but were eliminated from the play-offs by Sheffield Wednesday in a stunning comeback, despite Peterborough winning the first leg 4-0.

The first weekend of the season will also witness Leyton Orient, back in League One after an absence of eight years, traveling to face fellow London team Charlton. Additionally, Cambridge and Oxford, both of whom narrowly escaped relegation last season, will clash at the Abbey Stadium.

On the opening weekend, Carlisle, who earned their return to League One after a nine-year absence by defeating Stockport in a thrilling play-off at Wembley, will have the advantage of playing at home as they face Fleetwood.

The Weston Homes Stadium will witness the inaugural clash between rivals Peterborough and Cambridge on November 11, followed by the return game on February 24.

In a reversal of the opening-day games, the Boxing Day fixtures will take place.

On April 27, Reading will play host to Blackpool while Charlton will visit Wycombe for the final-day fixtures.
