Blizzard has silently altered the title "Predator" in Diablo 4 to "Enemy" in its latest update, without any mention in the patch notes. The recent release of Diablo 4 Update 1.0.4, before the Season 1 premiere on July 20, brought about several noteworthy modifications by Blizzard. One significant change involved Helltide chests now dropping Unique items, thereby considerably facilitating the farming of Uber Unique items for players. However, Blizzard promptly disabled these specific Unique items. Furthermore, players of Diablo 4 might observe various undisclosed alterations, such as Blizzard's revision of one of the game's titles.
The latest update for Diablo 4 has removed the Predator title from the game. Previously, players could unlock the titles Serial and Predator by achieving 25 PvP kills and completing the "Enemy of the Region" challenge. Now, the Predator title has been replaced by a new "Enemy" title. The reason for this change has not been officially stated in the patch notes, but it is likely due to the negative connotations associated with the term "Predator." Additionally, there may have been concerns about inappropriate combinations of titles using "Predator." It remains to be seen if any other titles will be modified in Diablo 4, but it is possible that new titles will be introduced through seasonal content and paid DLC expansions by Blizzard.
Titles in Diablo 4 can be used by players to add a unique touch to their characters, which is why many players actively search for them. For instance, "The" is a popular title among Diablo 4 players as it pairs well with various suffixes in the game. Rest assured, players shouldn't worry about Blizzard removing "The" from the game like it did with "Predator."
Nevertheless, there are numerous upcoming changes for Diablo 4. As a live service game, Blizzard will regularly release updates, which can include fan-requested enhancements, balance adjustments, and as seen with the removal of "Predator," the removal of certain elements from the game.
Diablo 4 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
