Screen Rant: Daniel, in the four episodes I've watched so far, Lan experiences both physical and emotional challenges. Which type of scenes do you find more nerve-wracking to shoot – the intense physical sequences or the emotionally charged moments?

Daniel Henney: I appreciate that. "Lan truly faces challenges." That's a concise summary. Interestingly, I feel a mix of nervousness and confidence when I'm alone. The burden falls on me to deliver the scene effectively. On the other hand, when I'm working with other actors, I feel the pressure to ensure their satisfaction with our work.

In essence, whenever I collaborate with my talented cast mates like Maddie, Rosamund, Zoë, or Marcus, I attach greater significance to those scenes. It becomes my priority to ensure everyone's contentment. However, when I engage in sword work or stunts by myself, the responsibility solely rests on me, and I gladly shoulder it.

Madeleine, it seems that season 2 will bring in numerous new antagonists and threats. Can you share any insights into what challenges Egwene will be facing?

Madeleine Madden: Egwene will be confronting one of the most nefarious forces in the entire series, although I won't reveal too much to avoid spoilers. The introduction of these antagonists raises the stakes significantly and adds complexity to the story. Relationships become more complicated as new individuals enter the picture.

I believe that despite the oppression and immense challenges posed by these antagonists and institutions, they serve as valuable teachers, helping our characters discover their true strengths and learn more about themselves. For many of our characters, their biggest struggle often lies within themselves, as they face dire situations and must find the strength to overcome them.

As I'm sure you are aware, The Wheel of Time has a dedicated fan base, so I reached out to Twitter for a few questions. One burning question is, Daniel, would you prefer giving a sponge bath to a Trolloc or brushing and flossing the teeth of a Fade?

Daniel Henney: Oh, God.

Madeleine Madden: That is a great question.

Daniel Henney: Personally, the sponge bath seems to evoke a more soothing atmosphere. It gives off a sense of tranquility and is accompanied by pleasant background music. On the other hand, I find the teeth of the Fade unsettling and intimidating. Their sharpness and eerie nature make me uncomfortable. Being in close proximity to their mouth is something I wish to avoid. Therefore, I prefer being in the bath with the Trolloc.

Another question is directed towards Madeleine. In this series, there are numerous stunning sets and exterior locations. Which set do you consider your favorite or the one that aids you the most in immersing yourself in the world and understanding your character?

The Two Rivers set surpassed my expectations, perfectly capturing the imagery described in the book. From the sight of chickens darting by to the prominent tree at the heart of the village, I was truly amazed by the meticulous attention to detail on that particular set. Being on that set allowed me to effortlessly immerse myself into the world and my character.

However, despite not having a role on the set, the Eye of the World set became a personal favorite of mine. It radiated sheer beauty and elegance, serving as the filming location for Rosamund, Josha, and Fares. I had the opportunity to visit the set that day, and I was immediately captivated. It had its own distinct atmosphere, as if transporting you to a different environment. As soon as you stepped in, you could feel the humidity in the air. It was truly an awe-inspiring experience.

Although Rand believed he had vanquished the Dark One, evil remains present in the world. In Season Two, both new and ancient threats emerge, targeting the young friends from the Two Rivers, now scattered across the globe. The woman who originally discovered and guided them is now devoid of power, leaving them to seek strength from alternative sources. Whether they find it within one another, themselves, the forces of Light, or the clutches of Darkness remains uncertain.
