The upcoming DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be compatible with Pokemon Home, making it the only recent Pokemon game without such compatibility.
As the ninth generation of the popular Pokemon series, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been on the market for almost a year. These games introduce an open-world environment and give players the freedom to choose their own story paths and complete objectives in any order they choose. Game Freak is keeping the excitement alive with a two-part DLC campaign called The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. The first part, The Teal Mask, is set to release on September 13, 2023, followed by the second part, The Indigo Disk, in Q4.
According to the official Japanese Pokemon Company X account, the two-part DLC campaign for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will allow players to transfer recruited Pokemon using Pokemon Home. This feature will be added through the Version 3.1.0 update, the release date of which is currently unknown. With this update, players will be able to transfer over 230+ Pokemon from the DLC to other compatible games. The DLC adds two new Legendaries, new evolutions for Duraludon and Applin, and includes all the missing starters from the base Scarlet and Violet game.
Despite the comments being primarily in Japanese, fans expressed their excitement for this update. Many were thrilled by the inclusion of new starters showcased in the promotional image, but were disappointed by the absence of a release date for Version 3.1.0. Fans are eagerly awaiting this new feature and hoping for confirmation on the rumored Tera forms in the bonus campaign.
The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero appears to be a significant and exciting addition to the existing games. The Pokemon Company's decision to allow players to transfer new Pokemon from this campaign to other titles is a clever and surprising move. However, considering the amount of criticism that the base games have received, there is some concern about potential technical issues, similar to those experienced in Scarlet and Violet. Only time will reveal the true quality of this DLC. Please note that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are exclusively available on the Nintendo Switch.
