The upcoming anime is scheduled to premiere in April 2024, with more information set to be shared at a later date. As usual, it will debut on Crunchyroll. Additionally, the panel announced that the official X account of Kaiju No. 8 will stream the anime simultaneously with its Japanese release.
This marks the debut of an anime being officially available for free streaming on the platform. However, it is currently uncertain if the stream will include English subtitles.
At the Jump Festa 2024 Kaiju No. 8 panel, new character visuals for Kikoru Shinomiya (Fairouz Ai) and Soshiro Hoshina (Kengo Kawanishi) were revealed. The pair also shared messages for fans via the official X account about their upcoming roles. Fairouz Ali expressed her honor at voicing Kikoru Shinomiya and shared her admiration for the character's confidence and work ethic.
Kengo Kawanishi, on the other hand, was taken aback when her manager broke the news about her participation in the show. She had been a devoted fan of the series on Jump+ and was eagerly anticipating the anime.

Production I.G. is responsible for bringing the anime to life, with directorial duties for Naoya Matsumoto's manga falling on Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya. Ichiro Okouchi will oversee the series composition and screenplay.
Tetsuya Nishio is in charge of character design, while Mahiro Maeda will handle the important task of designing the Kaiju. Yuta Bandoh and Fumiyuki Goh will take care of Music and Sound Direction, respectively.

Kaiju No. 8 plot
The panelists announced that the inaugural spin-off manga "Kaiju 8 Side B" is set to debut in serialization on Jump+ starting January 5, 2024. This new installment will offer a fresh perspective on the defense members, delving into aspects not previously explored in the main story.
After their town is destroyed by a kaiju, childhood friends Kafka Hibino and Mina Ashiro make a pact to join the Defense Force and fight kaiju together. Fast forward a few years, Mina is now the captain of the Third Division in the Defense Force.
However, Kafka has been unable to pass the examination and instead works as part of a clean-up crew that disposes of kaiju remains after battles, unlike his friend.
After ingesting a small kaiju, Kafka's destiny is altered, granting him the power to transform into one. Evading capture by the Defense Force, he adopts the code name "Kaiju No. 8" and sets out to start anew. This marks the beginning of Kafka's journey as he grapples with his newfound abilities, keeping them hidden while also battling alongside the Defense Force.

As a huge fan of the Kaiju No. 8 manga, I am beyond excited for the upcoming anime adaptation. The first PV showcased at Jump Festa 2024 gave me goosebumps, and I can't wait to see the intense Kaiju battles and character interactions brought to life on screen. The release date of April 2024 can't come soon enough!
The new character visuals for Kikoru Shinomiya and Soshiro Hoshina look amazing, and I'm thrilled to hear the voice actors' messages about their roles. Fairouz Ai and Kengo Kawanishi seem like perfect fits for Kikoru and Soshiro, and I can't wait to hear their performances.
