Exciting News for Bambi Fans: Award-Winning Actors Join Live-Action Remake!

Disney's upcoming live-action remake of Bambi has just added two award-winning actors to its cast Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of this classic tale with an all-star lineup

Disney is currently working on a live-action remake of Bambi, with the project still in its early stages. However, the studio may have found a director to helm the film. The company first announced its plans to adapt Bambi in 2020, with writers Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Lindsey Beer attached to the project and Depth of Field producing. Despite this initial announcement, there have been few updates since, including any news on casting or a potential release date. Additionally, the ongoing writers' strikes and tensions between SAG-AFTRA and major Hollywood studios make it unlikely that there will be any significant movement on the project anytime soon.

Sarah Polley is reportedly in talks with Disney to direct the live-action Bambi remake, which has been in production silence until now. The remake's storyline will follow the original's narrative of a young deer coming-of-age and experiencing tragedy, with the support of his friends Thumper and Flower. The film will be a musical, featuring songs from Grammy-award winner Kacey Musgraves, and the most recent script was written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster.

Polley's career has reached new heights with the success of Women Talking, a drama based on the true story of a group of women in a Bolivian Mennonite colony facing a difficult decision after decades of sexual assault. Her work on the film earned her an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as recognition from the Critics' Choice and WGA Awards and several Golden Globe nominations.

Bambi, a 1942 Disney animated feature, received numerous awards, including an Academy Award for Best Sound, Song, and Original Score. The film has also served as inspiration for future projects, including a horror film of the same name. In addition, Disney has released a series of live-action adaptations of their classic films, with The Little Mermaid remake grossing over $415 million since its debut in May.

Bambi (1942) is available on Disney Plus.
