Fan-favorite games Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2 may be getting native PS5 releases, according to leaked trophy lists.
The inclusion of Hotline Miami games on the PS5 would bring excitement to fans, as the console's 4K capabilities and improved frame rate support have the potential to enhance the gameplay experience for PlayStation players.
Leaked trophy lists indicate that the popular indie games Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number may soon be released on PS5. These highly acclaimed titles were fan favorites on the PS3 and PS Vita, and they could greatly benefit from native versions on the PS5.
Since its launch in November 2020, the PS5 has been receiving numerous remasters and ports. Additionally, the PS Plus subscription service regularly offers classic games from various PlayStation consoles, including the original PlayStation, PS2, and PS3. Both Sony and third-party publishers also make select PS1, PS2, and PSP titles available for purchase on the PlayStation Store. If the leaked trophy lists are accurate, fans can look forward to playing the improved versions of Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2 on the PS5.
A recent leak from Exophase, a website that tracks trophies and achievements, suggests that PS5 users can look forward to the release of Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2. The leaked trophy lists reveal that players will once again have the opportunity to earn platinum trophies in both games, as the PS5 versions are listed separately from the existing PlayStation versions. It is possible that this separation is due to the absence of the cross-buy feature, which was previously available for Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2 on PS3, PS Vita, and PS4. However, it is important to note that Devolver Digital, the publisher of the Hotline Miami series, has not officially confirmed the release of the PS5 versions at this time.
The original Hotline Miami game was released for PS3 and PS Vita in June 2013, almost a year after its PC launch. It later came to PS4 in August 2014 and its highly anticipated sequel was released in 2015, available on all three PlayStation platforms. In 2019 and 2020, both games were released on Nintendo Switch and Xbox platforms as the Hotline Miami Collection.
With the release of the PS5, Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2 could offer an enhanced experience for PlayStation fans with its 4K capabilities and support for higher frame rates. Rumors suggest that Devolver Digital may soon make an announcement on its official social media accounts based on the trophy lists. While no new Hotline Miami game has been announced, the re-releases for PS5 could potentially indicate exciting things to come for Hotline Miami fans.
Hotline Miami is available now for Android, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One.
