Get ready to say “Hi, Barbie!” from the comfort of your own mojo dojo casa house.
On Monday, December 4, Warner Bros. confirmed that the highly anticipated blockbuster Barbie will start streaming on Friday, December 15, at 3 a.m. ET on Max, owned by WB. Additionally, a version of the film featuring deaf performer Leila Hanaumi interpreting in American Sign Language (ASL) called Barbie With ASL will also be available on the same date as a separate title. Users will see key art with the sign language symbol for this version.
Barbie was a huge hit when it premiered in July, earning over $1.4 billion at the box office and the soundtrack receiving 11 Grammy Award nominations. Despite its success, star and executive producer Margot Robbie may not be ready to commit to a sequel just yet.
Robbie told the Associated Press last month, "I believe we gave our all to this project. We didn't plan for it to become a trilogy. Greta poured her heart into this film, so I can't fathom what's to come next."

Gerwig, for her part, has been unsure about returning for a second film.
The director, who collaborated on the script with partner Noah Baumbach, expressed to The New York Times in July that "At this moment, it’s all I’ve got. I feel like that at the end of every movie, like I’ll never have another idea and everything I’ve ever wanted to do, I did. I wouldn’t want to squash anybody else’s dream, but for me, at this moment, I’m at totally zero." However, just one month later, she appeared more open to the idea. She told People that she envisions Barbie as "the launch of a world and a bunch of different Barbie movies."

She exclaimed, "The tone, humor, and joy, not to mention the beautiful world, are all so appealing. I can't wait to visit Barbie Land again."
Barbie shattered numerous box office records and brought in a significant amount of revenue. This comedy film now holds the record for the biggest box office opening ever for a movie directed by a woman. It also claimed the title for the biggest opening weekend of the year, surpassing all the Marvel movies that premiered in 2023. Additionally, Barbie also achieved the honor of having the biggest three-day opening for a movie based on a toy, exceeding all the Transformers movies.
