Despite the resolution of the feud between Warner Bros. and Ray Fisher, it seems that the studio is not done taking jabs at the actor who portrayed Cyborg in Zack Snyder's Justice League. Fisher was at the forefront of his co-stars' efforts to expose Joss Whedon's alleged toxicity during the reshoots of Justice League, implicating Jon Bergs and Geoff Johns for enabling abusive behavior, racism, and misconduct. Fisher claimed that his lack of influence among his co-stars made it easier for Warner Bros. executives Walter Hamada and Ann Sarnoff to sweep the Justice League investigation under the rug. However, Warner Bros. Discovery reopened old wounds in their promotion of DC content on MAX, the studio's re-branded streaming platform.
Cyborg, portrayed by Fisher, was noticeably absent from the DC content profile icon lineup on MAX, despite being considered the heart of Snyder's Justice League by many. While all other cast members were present, Warner Bros. did not view the Snyderverse as canon and faced criticism for turning Cyborg into a caricature in the theatrical cut. The Snyderverse fandom rallied behind Fisher and criticized the studio's actions. The backlash prompted Warner Bros. Discovery to reinstate Cyborg's profile icon 12 hours later. Despite Fisher's absence from The Flash and claims of quitting by Warner Bros., he remains an integral part of the official Justice League lineup.
Some fans have criticized the Warner Bros. Discovery marketing for what they perceive as a lack of care in depicting characters from the Snyderverse. However, as James Gunn and Peter Safran's DCU reboot moves away from the Snyderverse, it's not surprising that the marketing reflects this shift. Actor Ray Fisher has reunited with Zack Snyder on the upcoming Rebel Moon, which is expected to provide a much better working environment than the difficult reshoots Fisher and others experienced during Justice League. Fans can currently watch Zack Snyder's Justice League on MAX.
