Exciting New Era: Nick Montgomery Signs Three-Year Contract as Hibernian's Head Coach

Nick Montgomery takes charge as Hibernian head coach, aiming to revive the team's fortunes after a challenging start to the season Exciting fixtures lie ahead, with Hibernian eager to make their mark in the Scottish Premiership and SWPL, both airing on Sky Sports

Former Sheffield United midfielder Nick Montgomery has been announced as Hibernian's new head coach on a three-year contract. The 41-year-old, who recently won the A-League title with Central Coast Mariners in Australia, is set to make his managerial debut for Hibernian this Saturday in their match against Kilmarnock.

Montgomery was the top choice on Hibs' list of candidates and has been selected to replace Lee Johnson. Johnson was dismissed last month following a 3-2 loss to Livingston in the Scottish Premiership at home.

Joining Montgomery is Sergio Raimundo, who will act as his assistant head coach, and Miguel de Oliveira Miranda, the newly appointed goalkeeping coach. David Gray will continue to serve as the first-team coach.

Hibs endured three consecutive losses in their initial league matches under Johnson, coupled with a humiliating 5-0 home defeat to Aston Villa in the Europa Conference League. Nevertheless, they managed to climb up from the bottom position by defeating Aberdeen under Gray prior to the international break.
