In a recent photo from their upcoming movie "Kinds of Kindness," Emma Stone and Joe Alwyn, who is a friend of Taylor Swift, were seen looking very close. Stone, who is 35 years old, and Alwyn, who is 33, appeared to be standing intimately together in a dimly lit setting. In the picture, Alwyn is gazing at Stone while she doesn't return his eye contact.

The movie's official Instagram account excitedly shared a post on Tuesday, April 23, with the caption "Emma Emma Emma," followed by "Joe Joe Joe."

Emma Stone and Taylor Swift, both 34, have been good friends since they first met at the 2008 Young Hollywood Awards. Fans were quick to speculate that Swift's vault track "When Emma Falls in Love," released in July 2023, was dedicated to her close friend Emma Stone. Most recently, the two friends collaborated on Swift's song "Florida!!!" from her album The Tortured Poets Department, which came out on Friday, April 19.

The film is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, and the star-studded cast includes Stone, Alwyn, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, and Margaret Qualley, who all have connections to Swift’s universe.

Stone and Alwyn, who dated for six years before their split in April 2023, are not the only cast members linked to the pop star. Qualley’s husband, Jack Antonoff, has collaborated with Swift on several albums, including TTPD.

Kinds of Kindness is a unique film described as a "triptych fable." It follows the story of a man who feels he has no control over his life but is determined to change that. There is also a subplot involving a policeman who is shocked to see his wife, who was once lost at sea, return as a different person. Lastly, a woman is on a mission to find a specific individual with a special gift, believed to be a future spiritual leader.

In the teaser released in March, viewers catch a glimpse of Stone behind the wheel of a fast-moving car. With determination in her voice, Stone declares, "This is the moment of truth."

The short video, less than a minute long, features clips of each cast member set to the song "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by Eurythmics. The video ends with Stone parking her car and exclaiming, "Isn't it wonderful?"

Director Lanthimos, aged 50, has described the film as consisting of three different stories, each with four or five actors playing different parts in each story. In an interview with The Guardian in December 2023, he mentioned that it felt like making three separate films.

Lanthimos and Stone have worked together before on the movie Poor Things, where she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in March, and in 2018's The Favourite, which also featured Alwyn.

Lanthimos expressed his excitement about collaborating with Emma again, stating, "It's wonderful to be working with Emma. Having someone who trusts you so much and whom you trust so much makes the process much easier."

Kinds of Kindness hits theaters on June 21.
